GSP Sniper and Marksman Weapons

Hi everybody,

I’m proud to present you the first part of my Weapon mod. Which I’ve been working on the last two month. The intention with this mod is to provide a variety of quality sniper rifles for the community in one pack.

At first this pack contains only the M40a5 but other Models are W.I.P - next model will be an mk12 mod 1.

However this Weapon pack will include a variety of different Sniper-and Marksman rifles (and their accessories) in the future. Like the

- Mk12 mod 1

- Dragunov (customized version with rails and different Buttstock)

- Tac. 50 or 300

- G3 (customized version)

- MSR

- And further More…….

All weapon types come in three different camo’s like woodland, desert and Winter.

Including custom reload animations for each weapon. Every Bolt rifle will have their proper animation.

All models and textures are done completely by myself. Modelled/designed and measured as close as possible to their real life counterparts.

So if anybody can provide detailed pictures or other resources for this rifles, this would be great.

Hope you’ll enjoy this pack. Every constructive feedback or help is appreciated and needed to improve the experience.

Lovely! Finally a proper sniper rifle! Cant wait for the finished product and especially the Tac-300. Good job man, really appreciate this mod.

Very nice, Honestly this need better texture with modeling but i hope this will handled later, the boltaction animation is really cool, nice job on that. also great job on custom reload animation, maybe need more smooth animation at far future but now is cool imo

Seems like silencer's sound is too low and quiet, it could be better with bolt clicking sound when pulled the bolt.

Personally i liked to see this animation

caution set mute.

the boltpull animation is handled via a script so it is possible to implement a variety of different animation which could be played randomly after every firing so it is not the same animation over and over again.

My plan is to improve the sound and the textures in the future or to find somebody who can do tha for me.

There are some awesome guys working on the RHS US Armed forces/russian federation pack. they make some kick ass textures, maybe talk to them about it?? as of right now looking at the pictures that the only lacking thing that i can see!

really cool first release. the added animation per shot are something arma3 could profit from as far as taking weapons in it and their handling to a better level.

i also like how the weapon sight picture is affected by the bolt action animation (although it is a bit jerky but you're probably still refining that). recoil back is alo non existant, needs some more pop even when prone. ( i like this vid

)

is it possible to not cycling the bolt until releasing the firing button? right now id like to keep my sight picture until seeing where the round impacts.

how do i deploy the bipod? does it affect the stability of the weapon?

sorry this is not possible I think. Because the bolt animation is handled by the engine when a shot is fired.

Also is the rifle affected by the animation because it is very difficult to get a sweet translation so the weapon does not jump.

I will tweak up the recoil of the weapon in the future. But I also think that the pull animation interferes with the recoil.

Regarding the Bipod it is more of an optical feature at the moment ( and so not deployable).

Cool work. I never could get the bolt pull animation to work right on my WIP pack. You can put the bipod under firemodes and it will animate up and down. I'll be more than happy to work on your textures for you. Are you using A2 textures?

I created this textures by my self with a _co,nohq and smdi. Ofcourse you can do some tetxures I appreciate any help (also my knowledge is very limmited in this department).

And thanks for the Info with the bipod luckely I knew this already but I think this is a feature which can wait a little longer.

the woodland and winter version of the M40 are textured via hidden selection, so it is possible to apply diferent camo's easily.

I have to say I'm incredibly impressed by this addon, I'm assuming this is your first release? (Sorry if it isn't but I haven't seen anything else wicha name on Armaholic :p)

So far you've got an awesome base to build upon, textures definitely need some work as you've pointed out. But the sounds are killin it for me, If you'd like I could send you some gun-fire sounds for the rifles. I happened to have needed some for an old ArmA project but they've since collected dust. PM me if you'd like to take a listen but fantastic work on the project man, I wish you best of luck as it continues to develop!

I luckely got into texturing a littlebit and was able to find out how to to some Uv mapping and supershader texturing.

So in my opinion the models look a lot better now. Also tweaked the m40a5 model a little bit. Managed to get the bolt animtion less jerkey.

If you look through the scope now it is way more calm.

Still to do is, to get better sounds.

Next Rifle will be for the BIG GUYS a Tac 50. Model is 95% complete just need to do some Texturing and animtion.

I've just tried it and I really like it so far. Is it maybe possible to add a little screenshake while the bolt it pulled if looking through the scope? I think that this would up immersion for the guy on the gun as well.

Are you planning on maybe adding a L115A2 some day? I'd like to see more variety in rifles that are not 7.62mm or .50cal.

thanks for your support :), I'm haven't worked on the m40 for a while cause I'm still busy on finishing the Tac 50.

However I could use some nice sounds (gunshot,reload ect.)for the M40 , also If you could provide some picture of the real camo style used by the corps would help me alot.

Hi everybody,

here I'm back again. It has been a while, but finally I can give an updated Version of my Mod.

This Time I added an very Powerfull rifle the McMillan Tac 50. I Also tweaked the Ammo and damage values of the Rifles (thanks to Spartan0536).

Also the rifles have no linked items anymore (Request from many Users).

I'm working also on some other Rilfes, like the MSR/XM210 or the M107 CQ .

If anybody can help me with some good pictures of the MSR this would be really nice.

I also need better Sounds.

Have fun and any feedback or constructive critisism is appreciated.

Thx dude, tested it right now, the Box have no ammo for the TAC-50, there was an error too, something with config.bin/12.7 or cal50 not sure ^^
