Middle East Conflict mod

Recommended Posts

@MSGTJohnson357

They seem to have extra mags when I checked it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Update: It only seems to happen on a dedicated server when spawning them with Zeus, it's like the randomization script doesn't work properly.

I've just noticed today that this mod (or maybe its dependencies) seems to break the explosive specialist role. I can not place APERS mines, tripwire mines and slams with the explosive specialist role. I've tracked it down to this mod. Is this a feature, was anything changed that might have caused this?

@ShocknAwe

Dunno why that would be, the config stuff is pretty plain. Has anyone else had this problem?

For the next release I have separated the East vs West stuff into an optional PBO. Still waiting on the headband stuff so no ETA.

Drongo I was playing a bit with the textures, it's the first time that I mess with them and it took me only a few minutes to make a quick test, but I could get something like:

http://oi61.tinypic.com/2zp8m8p.jpg (253 kB)

I think that my quick test look better than the IDF mod uniform because it uses the CSAT officer uniform which looks almost as the IDF one ( the only problem is how to remove the shadow of the CSAT logo and the shoulders image ).

If you are interested I can send you the .paa .

I'm going through this interesting thread and I just want to leave one comment regarding the pictures in the quoted post. IDF soldiers have two sets of clothing, "Alef" and "Bet". Note that the officer in the third picture is wearing an "Alef" uniform, which is used mainly for travelling outside military bases (for example while travelling home and back to service) and for special occasions. These uniforms are not used in combat or training. For training and combat the "Bet" uniforms are used. Think of them as "work" uniforms. See Wikipedia article. The two sets have different colour and fabric. Here's a picture of IDF soldiers wearing Bet uniforms:

Note that depending on the mod's fidelity, the changes might be unnoticeable.

EDIT

Apoligies Drongo,

I dont think middle east conflict is responsible for the inability to place explosives.

I just took out the mod,loaded up,and still cannot place any sort of charge.Simply no option for it.

For the guys posting above with this issue,what mods did you install recently?

Do you use AGM?

---------- Post added at 13:27 ---------- Previous post was at 13:08 ----------

Confirmed here- AGM explosives PBO was causing the issue for me.Maybe dosent play well with something else.But its nothing to do woth this mod,thankfully ;) Looking forward to the headbands.

My favourite problems are the ones that solve themselves :) I've also tweaked the Irregulars so that the mod detects the Iraq War mod and uses the IS uniforms if present.

Question? The following code will take NVGs off basic CSAT OPFOR units. But does not appear to take them off units within this mod.

this unassignItem "NVGoggles_Opfor"; this removeItem "NVGoggles_Opfor";

how would I go about doing such with units from this mod on Opfor side?

There's a very small black texture issue on the desert BDU's, its on the bottom forearm. It's only a black stripe but I thought you should know about it. Other than that, great addon!

ANy info on what code to use to remove NVGs for units??

Normal basic codes do not work for removing such.

(this unassignItem "NVGoggles_Opfor"; this removeItem "NVGoggles_Opfor";) (Or just using NVGoggles)

Would me nice to have more Middle Eastern OPFORs with no body armor and no NVGs.

Use (this unlinkItem "NVGoggles_OPFOR"). That command both unassigns AND removes the NVGs.

Well, that's if they're using the standard CSAT NVGs. They could be custom.

This is the needed code to remove all NVGs for Opfor (and the members within a unit).

{_x unassignItem "NVGoggles_mas_mask2"; _x removeItem "NVGoggles_mas_mask2"} forEach units group this;

OR for individual unit

this unlinkitem "NVGoggles_mas_mask2";

ACTUALLY. NO THIS DOESN"T WORK. Hmm??

---------- Post added at 19:39 ---------- Previous post was at 19:00 ----------

SOLVED - This DOES IT -

this unlinkItem "NVGoggles_mas_mask2"; This unlinkitem "NVGoggles";

First post updated with version 016. Changes:

  • Fixed some config problems with the Hamas base (missing hiddenselections)
  • Adjusted the Hamas loadout
  • Added backpacks to Hamas RPG/AA troops
  • Removed the requirement for Sudden's East vs West mod (made the BTR60, BRDM, UAZ and Ural an optional .pbo)
  • Added auto-detection support for Marve_XT's Iraqi Warfare Mod (lets the ME Irregulars use IS uniforms)
  • Major overhaul of headgear detection for ME Irregulars (now has a choice of Hat, Mask, Hat and Mask, Shemagh and Balaclava)
  • Various small config fixes

No headbands or custom uniforms in this release I'm afraid, Chops has been very busy donating blood in Liberia and is currently down with a very bad case of the flu. Hopefully he can start modding again once he recovers .

In between blood farts, I have made some progress on Islamic State models:

On patrol in Northern Iraq.

Hamas prisoners meet their fate near the Lebanese border.

th_2014-11-20_00012_zpsd61cb2ef.jpg

There are now IS, Hamas, Hezbollah and generic Islamist (AQ inspired) headbands in the helmet inventory slot. They come in two sizes for your fundamentalist requirements, balaclava and shemag. They have a 'camo' selection, should you wish to config your own My Little Pony versions.

There are retextured BIS shemags in the sunglasses inventory slot. Deafault BIS patterns plus about six custom ones.

The Islamic man-dress (dishdasha?) things are A2 ports. There's currently about five or six versions, but they'll be plenty more. I'm planning on importing all the 'Taliban' models from A2, so we can have a Taliban force too. I'll release all the MLODs for anyone who's interested to see how it's done.

IS will end up with both man-dress and comventional combat trousers versions (A3 retextures). I'll let Drongo outline his plans for the other factions, once he gets back from following Katy Perry on tour.

Cheers

Chops
