Kydoimos 915 Posted April 23, 2014 I must say - I do rather like 'bugheads' for CSAT! Or 'Marvins' - yes, totally see the line of logic there!
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Ah - you know what - now I'm thinking 'Spacebugs'. 'Greenbacks' and 'Spacebugs'? Mmm, maybe. Anyhow, script for 'Approaching Thunder' has been completed and is on its way to the voice actors. Always on the look out for a few extras with good recording equipment and a great Greek accent... feel free to drop us a line. Harzach 2516 Posted April 24, 2014 Ah - you know what - now I'm thinking 'Spacebugs'. 'Greenbacks' and 'Spacebugs'? "Bugheads", or simply "Bugs" sounds better - more derogatory than "Spacebugs", which is a little fanciful, though "Marvins" is catchy (not sure if it makes sense culturally, though). Just my opinion. Variable 322 Posted April 24, 2014 ...though "Marvins" is catchy (not sure if it makes sense culturally, though). Just my opinion. I agree. Marvins says nothing to me, and I suppose also for a lot of other potential players.
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 24, 2014 Ok - 'Bugs' it is. That's perfect! Just sounds - I don't know - just really right for CSAT, with their crazy sci-fi headgear!
Variable 322 Posted April 24, 2014 Ok - 'Bugs' it is. That's perfect! Just sounds - I don't know - just really right for CSAT, with their crazy sci-fi headgear! Great, just bear in mind that Bugs is the nickname used to define the enemy in the book "Ender's Game". At least that's my first association.
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 24, 2014 Ah drat! And double drat! I'd really love something original! Thanks for pointing that out, Variable!
Variable 322 Posted April 24, 2014 Wait, Wikipedia says that the Formicks on Ender's Game are called "Buggers"... Maybe my memory fail me!
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 24, 2014 Hey, score! I'll look into it! Thanks again, mate!
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 25, 2014 Hi all - should have a new teaser trailer within the week, to coincide with the MANW opening. Watch this space. Oh, and considering a prize draw with mugs and mouse mats for supporters (not voters, that'd be a little unethical!).
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) So, here we go. Mikhalis Drakon. ---------- Post added at 18:28 ---------- Previous post was at 18:26 ---------- Here's the aforementioned teaser trailer. I had to pinch a couple of split second scenes from some of the official ArmA3 material - but only because my PC can't handle Fraps, ArmA3, and action scenes at the same time! Anyway, you can get the gist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfgfN6ooDQA Edited April 26, 2014 by Kydoimos
IndeedPete 1038 Posted April 26, 2014 Great teaser! Really good voice acting!
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 26, 2014 Thanks man! Yes, the actor playing Mikhalis Drakon was originally auditioning for the main role but lost out. Then, I asked about re-auditioning for a Greek role with a Greek accent. That was his audition take! I was well impressed and cast him straight off!
IndeedPete 1038 Posted April 26, 2014 He's good. May I ask where you find all these people? I'm thinking about voiceacting for my project some time in he future when it's finished. (I'm rewriting scripts on a daily base...)
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 26, 2014 Great stuff! The voice actors involved come from a plethora of different places - they're mostly hired professionals from the big voice acting websites - so, I'm seeing it as an investment. There's a thread somewhere on these forums too, with some talent!
Keegan 11 Posted April 26, 2014 Great looking campaign so far. Trailers got me hooked! Keep up the good work, man. Can't wait to play it.
IndeedPete 1038 Posted April 27, 2014 Hm, I wouldn't want to hire people for actual money. Hence having voiceacting is optional for me. I would do some stuff myself, but a) I don't have the equipment b) I don't like hearing my voice c) My German accent would make impossible to act a native English speaker and let's face it, most characters around Arma are from the US or GB. Maybe I'll just develop a German character and if I find enough actors for the other roles I could do the voice acting for this one. Anyway, do you act any of your characters by yourself? Kydoimos 915 Posted April 27, 2014 Thanks for the link, Harzach - yes, that was the thread I was thinking of! There's a little bit of voice acting I've done myself: you remember the AAF Hellcat in Road's End? That was me, with a Greek accent. There are some very good, free VAs out there, but you'll need to hold lots of auditions to separate the wheat from the chaff! Glad you guys liked the new trailer! IndeedPete 1038 Posted April 27, 2014 Great, I joined the group and I'll see to get a vomiting scene in so Kommiekat can put his talent to good use. ;)
Kydoimos 915 Posted April 28, 2014 You know, all jokes aside - it could actually be done. I could create a User Texture... :)
