ã€may contain spoilers for the 3rd chapter of the campaign "east wind"】(and, again, why the campign is called "the East Wind"?)

I've unpacked the campaign pbo and found this vessel "HMS Proteus" in "Paradise Found", west of where Miller took over the truck, grid 196-199. Apparently a british submarine. It seems that miller and his british colleagues exfiltrate Altis with this sub, BUT then how could it be when Kerry called Miller in "Game Over" I found CSAT chatter on the air? There shouldnt be CSATs on a british sub right?:j:

Then I found this:

If i'm not wrong this "HMS Proteus" is an Astute-class nuclear attack submarine.

well...but, how to...?

Left-click on "Go Advanced" right down below the input box. By clicking on the last option to the right of the last row above the input box you can insert spoiler-tags.

oh many thanks!:p

Although you should probably write "Potential campaign spoilers for the WIN-campaign" outside of the spoiler-tags, so people know what to expect. ;) Never underestimate the destructive power of curiosity.

What about a secret ending?

How many endings are there? What's the difference between chosing Miller and NATO?

As I know there are 2 and only 2 endings(may count 3), if you choose to fight with NATO, at last the AAF will surrender and the flashpoint ends. 6 weeks later you will be assigned to escort an AAN journalist to meet the FIA commander Nikolaus("Status Quo"); If you choose to steal the truck and take it to Miller the CSAT will launch an invasion immediately and Miller then escaped, You will then have to fight for a way out, or be killed during the last stand("Game Over"). I ve checked the mission map of ""Status Quo[,"Game over" and "Paradise found", but never found any evidence of a secret ending.

How many endings are there? What's the difference between chosing Miller and NATO?

Warning: contains spoilers

Miller ending: You hand the "Tempest (device)" over to Miller after defeating a bunch of CSAT spec ops. In the end of the mission there's a huge CSAT attack on the island and you hear the radio comms of the island being overrun. The mission then ends. In the next mission (which happens an hour later) you see a burning A-164 crash and then you call Miller about his promise to give you a ride off the island. Miller says that the situation has changed and that's it too dangerous to go back now. An earthquake hits shortly after. Kerry then decides to have one of his famous monologues, saying that he has to get off the island. There's an offroad nearby, a quad down the road with a dead CSAT spec op next to it and a hatchback further down the road. Now you get to check your map, which has dozens of airfields, heliports, ports and naval bases marked. Now the mission becomes a free roam. Actually escaping is pretty easy, but you get some optional tasks along the way, such as to investigate the dome where you found the "Tempest (device)" (be careful, though, there are some enemies in the base now!) or to regroup with some NATO or FIA troops. These are the only tasks I found so far, but I haven't explored that much. Also, NATO seems to be doing pretty well, despite the whole CSAT invasion thing. There are still some choppers, MBTs, IFVs, a lot of infantry and other things around the map. Speaking of things around the map, there are also a lot of abandoned vehicles. I found a Panther with some ammo and a mortar inside. But, this is already long enough, so I'll stop it here. If somebody manages to find a secret ending, post it somewhere on the forums.

NATO ending: You meet Crossroads in person and he orders you to go mark some targets (tanks, IFVs, MRAPs and infantry) for arty, destroy them with missiles/rockets or call in airstrikes. After that the NATO invasion pushes the remaining few AAF forces away and the end up surrendering, resulting in a cease fire. The next mission (which happens six weeks later) begins with you riding in a HEMMT. The driver drops you off at the airfield, where there's a bunch of civilian cars and civilians. You then meet an AAN reporter, who you're supposed to drive to Nikos (referred to as Mr.Panagolpodfosfdnfsngfsjng (I can't spell it)). You have to refuel your Offroad and then you drive the reporter to Nikos. Crossroads calls you back to the base because of something (can't remember right now, I think it was something along the lines of "We have a situation here") and the mission ends. It's also worth noting that there's some ION guys next to Nikos and at the airfield.

Sorry for the wall of text.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Pavel :p

In short words if you choose to help James CSAT launches a full scale invasion and when Miller tells Kerry to wait him there (he told him that he was going to take him away from Altis in one hour), after that credits with US units saying in the radio that they made contact with the enemy and you can hear them dying, also I think the guy with the codename Crossroads dies too, when he tells his units to leave you can hear an explosion and he instantly stops talking. Anyway, Miller will never come and you can end the game in two ways: by dying or by escaping the island.

If you follow the NATO path then you defeat the AAF, NATO wins, nothing is known about Miller's device and in Status Quo, the last mission after the credits you will have to escort an AAN journalist to meet Nikos in a town close to the airport, the journalist tells Kerry to ask Stavrou about the british implication in this war and when Kerry brings the journalist to Nikos Crossroads tells him that they have a situation over the airport and that means they have a problem, Kerry of course says not again.

I don't like the cliffhangers in both of the endings.

Thank you for the answers, everybody. So wait, even more cliffhangers? So that means the story goes on in DLC?

It's not the editor, you either have to spawn it or put down some other object and change its classname in the mission.sqm.

Swam up to it in-game. It looks like the map model for the HMS Proteus is the same as one used in a really old screenshot when it was going to be an actual in-game vehicle. Kind of sad to think ArmA 3 is one nuclear-frickin-submarine down, but at least the model is still used.

It was never, ever hinted at being "an actual in-game vehicle", the speculation at the time of the screenshot(s) was that it'd be simply yet another (albeit underwater) static object.

There is a secret ending if you take the device to the NATO rally point instead of miller. I won't tell you about how the sub is related to it, it'll be more exciting when you find for yourself.

Hum, I've stolen the truck and brought it back to the rally point, but nothing happens, just the new task "find miller".

---------- Post added at 12:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:48 PM ----------

and mission is "failed" if i destroy the truck

You get killed as soon as you get close to NATO troops? :D
