SC Urban Apparel

Description

SC Urban Apparel is a simple retexture addon meant to provide ArmA 3 with more clothing options for civilians. The goal is to provide mostly modern, urban-themed apparel using real brands and clothes. For the time being, I plan to keep this a simple retexture mod, but I may delve into the realm of modelling in the future. I'm more than willing to consider any suggestions so long as you can at least provide me with some sample pictures or point me in the necessary direction. Also, I do plan to include clothing and items that fit with the "Gang Warfare" aesthetic for anyone interested in that stuff.

Custom clothes for people who request them and provide necessary resources

Customized (and possibly ported) civilian vehicles

Custom inventory items to fit the urban atmosphere

Custom-modeled headgear, glasses, etc. (Not any time soon)

Credits

Bohemia Interactive - Providing excellent models, textures, and engine to work with

Slatts - Providing a helpful but simple tutorial for retexturing (lost the link)

proteK - Partially inspiring me to make this mod and assisting with its design and concept

CAF Team - Editing the "Worn Clothes" uniform to properly allow hiddenselections, thus making my life easier

ETA

There is no set ETA, but I'm working on new outfits everyday and it wouldnt be that hard to release a few small beta packs here and there if there's enough interest.

this is a great idea! i've been secretly wishing for this mod for a while now

just a couple ideas/images for if/when you decide to branch into modelling:

hoodies - http://www.macho.com/data/default/images/catalog/1000/black-hoodie2-1108.jpg

jackets - http://images.thenorthface.com/is/image/TheNorthFace/596x781/men-39-s-gilmore-triclimate-jacket-C330_044_hero.jpg

suits - http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61tmRdAfzvL._SL1500_.jpg

i'll be following this thread, and bugging my group to add it to our modpack when you release!

---------- Post added at 03:50 ---------- Previous post was at 03:48 ----------

and you may want to consider retexturing the rangemaster suit instead of the refugee outfit, as the rangemaster's pants look more like jeans than these, which to me look like sweatpants

I'm going to try and port the suit and hoodie insurgent outfit over and use those if possible. Also, I plan to retexture the rangemaster suit as well with more business/casual clothing.

Can you give me a template

Sure thing, man. I'm not at home tonight but tomorrow I'll upload my templates in .xcf and .pdn files (cant afford Photoshop). All I ask is that if you make some nice retextures consider sending them my way to be included in the pack. (with you receiving credit for them of course)

EDIT: Cant figure out how to port my work on GIMP to Paint.net so just .xcf for now. Here ya go

To change the colors, use the xxx_T layers and the Fill tool with "Fill only similar colors" selected.

To apply the Jeans texture to the pants, select the Jeans_T layer and then right click on the pants. Select Filters > Artistic > GIMPressionist and then select the Paper tab and choose canvas2.ppgm. Check the Invert and Overlay options and set the Scale and Relief as necessary.

Actually I'm going to work on implementing more textures before I do my first release. Sorry guys.

Nice!

A question, though...

How have you managed to retexture the c_poor.p3d based models (first screenshot on your first post, the guy with the black adidas t-shirt.)?

I've been trying, but they don't seem to have hiddenselections. Is there another model I have missed?

I've been looking to do this myself, and I think maybe the reference to this in the OP is related:

CAF Team - Editing the "Worn Clothes" uniform to properly allow hiddenselections, thus making my life easier

I think a custom class in CfgVehicles would be required, which extends from the base class and applies hiddenSelections and hiddenSelectionsTextures to the class, and/or possible the Uniform.

EDIT: Possibly like example here http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?162204-50-Scripts-working-apart-from-these-2&p=2492978&viewfull=1#post2492978

Unfortunately, the "Worn Clothes" uniform doesn't have hiddenselections set up in the config. Whats strange is that it DOES have them set up in the model, and they simply arent "activated" in the config. Why BIS would config them like that is beyond me. Luckily, CAF Aggressors solves this issue by adding hiddenselections through their African Rebels configs.
