Polish senators: "We need to send the equipment for fighting Ukraine."

Senator of Civic Platform Bogdan Klich believes that Poland should be involved in the arming of Ukraine, and to convince to that all NATO at the upcoming summit in Newport. Former defense minister stresses that the Ukrainian army will not cope with the invasion of Russian troops without the help of Western countries.

Such a position of Poland during the NATO summit has the support of the majority of political forces in the country.

Ukraine bailout could need extra $19billion if conflict continues, warns IMF

Factories shutting down, industrial heartlands under attack and currency in freefall, contributing to sharp increase in prices

The IMF last week approved a $1.4bn (£840m) loan to Ukraine, the second tranche of its $17bn bailout programme agreed in April to stave off default.

Ukraine urgently needs IMF loans to support its budget and prop up its faltering currency as its debts come up for repayment. Almost $4bn must be repaid before the end of the year, with $9bn due in 2015.

In exchange for IMF aid, Ukraine's government has agreed on sweeping economic reforms, including curbing public-sector wage increases, increasing energy prices to bring them more in line with market values, overhauling banking and currency regulations and tackling chronic graft that has made the country one of the most corrupt in the world.

According to a survey of economists by the paper, inflation was running at almost 13% in July but was expected to spike at 20% towards the end of the year.

Despite highlighting military and political turmoil, the IMF left unchanged its forecast that Ukraine's economy would shrink by 6.5% in 2014 – an estimate based on the assumption that fighting will abate in the coming months.

The Donetsk and Luhansk regions at the centre of the conflict are the bedrock of Ukraine's coal, steel and chemicals industries. Although home to less than 9% of the population, these regions contribute 16% of the country's economic output. Yatsenyuk has accused separatists of attacking railways, roads, power stations, bridges and mines as part of a Russia-backed plan to stifle the economy.

More than 1 million Ukrainians displaced by conflict: UNHCR

More than one million people have been displaced by the conflict in Ukraine, including 814,000 Ukrainians now in Russia with various forms of status, the UNHCR United Nations refugee agency said on Tuesday.

Numbers displaced inside Ukraine by the fighting have nearly doubled in the past there weeks to at least 260,000 and more are fleeing, it earlier told a Geneva news briefing.

"It's safe to say you have over a million people now displaced as a result of the conflict, internally and externally together," Vincent Cochetel, director of the UNHCR's bureau for Europe, later told reporters. "I mean 260,000 in Ukraine, it's a low estimate, 814,000 in Russia, then you add the rest ... Belarus, Moldova, European Union."

Imagine the Ukraine army using German equipment against Russians and their militias. Just like what that Ukrainian militia Soldier in the latest Vice News report: "These people think its still 1940".

for last week rebels get 50+ tanks and other armors from surrounded Ukrainian troops. They surrender or run away without any attempt to at least destroy it. Wonderland.

Yup it's specially amazing because those "captured tanks" seem to be T72 with Russian markings. The typical tank that the Ukrainian Army uses.

To add more wonder, some of those tanks are able to tele-transport dozens of km beyond the Ukrainian front-line and appear just close to the Russian border

You don't have to look for phantom Russian army man. Just search on Facebook for recent (1-2 weeks) "separatist" posts with video. There lots of them show captured troops and armors (tanks, apc, grads). They mostly in Russian and Ukrainian but i think you get the picture.

Ask your GF to translate it for you. Be advised, there is a real (!) fighting on some of them. And some of the story they (captives) tell really ugly.

There are 117.000 Ukrainian troops involved with ATO. This include national guard, right sector brigades, private oligarch army's and who know what else. You tell me 1000 Russian troops with mysterious 10 tanks and without any air support at all can (and did) turn tide in 24 hours ??? Its quite impressive .. but i'm not buying it. Sorry.

The problem with you guys ( as a matter of fact with all of us) sometime we just refuse accepting the truth, if that not what we want or expect.

the amount of directly involved Russian troops is between 3 and 15 thousands already , indirectly (shelling over borders and logistics) is more likely even more

don't forget there is 600 to 2000 KIA/MIA Russian soldiers already too ...

also I seen more than 10 Russian tanks in single video, so no idea where you get your 'only 10 tanks' info ...

and even if the Rebels got just 50 to 100 tanks from Russia it's enough to shift forces in operation which didn't calculated with heavy tank support on the rebel side

Accept the one and only truth. The truth that the allmighty separatist god has bestowed magic russian tanks upon thee who has believed in him. Even in hard times they prayed, even at times where they have almost been defeted. At times where it seemed like they would be wiped out in a week of time. But the separatist god gifted them russian T-72s and said "Say you captured them, the russians will actually believe it, because they want to". Of course not everybody followed his words, but the separatist god didn't give a fuck, because russians believe everything their mighty media says. And now after they lost nine tenths of their territory within weeks they started expanding again, to the point where they started taking territory not even remotly close to their previous territory.

Actually what you are suggesting is that there have too be much more russian troops and tanks, because if it only was for local separatists this whole thing would be over in may.

so they help Arab (Kurds) to have peace of mind with minority and they first sold high-tech to RA, than now do not disturb client, they will rather sacrifise Ukrainians, and when Ukrainians will be totally poor because of Russians, than Ukrainians will be cheapest slaves for western corporation and Ukrainian girls will be cheapest w*** for western old people

Why do they not try to disprove the NATO satellite photos in the article by explaining what they are? And how do they explain the sudden new front? Not to mention the fact that Russia is still clearly helping the insurgents.

I find it strange how it says there is no serious evidence, even though there is more than enough. Russian tanks, documents, citizens, fsb and gru members and so on besides the satellite images.
