AI support troops- Deploying weapons

Hi all;

Been trying to rig up a mission with AI mortar teams, but I cannot for the life of me work out how to get them to deploy their gear. They have the packs and everything but nothing seems to make them want to take a few moments to get their kit out and set up. Do I have to do some scripting for this, or is there a mod that makes them think with more than just the rifle in their hands or what?

Have a look at my small script package, mostly being made for a better AI artillery implementation for mission makers it also features the packing/unpacking of static weapons.
