Kingdom Come: a realistic RPG by the former creators of Mafia and Arma

Recommended Posts

Everyone starts out with the same character, and the quests have alternate outcomes and ways to be solved. But ultimately you are following a narrative story(unlike M&B).

Edit: Stretch goals. Nothing too interesting here in terms of gameplay. It would be nice having a female character with period accurate clothes instead of the usual rpg kind.

Hmm strange that Bohemia havent backed ( maybe the private invester is a Spanel ?) ,

I always thought this theme and content was the one Bohemia management always would like to have made after they delivered thier xbox commitments with Elite.

For me personally it has Horses and its on the Cry Engine so i will have to buy it out of sheer curiosity and hope the gameplay lives upto the storyline and PR so far.

The Landscape looks amazing! and finally a medieval RPG with no Dragons, a Dream comes true.

I agree on some of things mentioned here for the future of how this pans out and what can be delivered with the scope.

Having said that it would be almost criminal not to bookmark this and watch its progress because if it does become what they say ... well, not really anything more to be added. I wonder if Rockstar have ever looked into them too (RDR for example). Probably best to be indie for all the reasons mentioned in the video though.

I hope the office dog gets included in the game ;)

Can't believe no publisher was interested in this because it didn't had dragons, sexy elves or you didn't started as the grand savior of the galaxy-the chosen one-grandmaster of the world and slayer of the 200 beasts.Backed it and I'm glad it got funded so fast.Although I'm not interested in their stretch goals,I do hope they get even more money just to prove that not all rpgs are only about hack&slash, stats and fetch quests.

Oh and the private investor is Zdenek Bakala.

Why are the Czech devs the only ones trying to fulfill my dreams ?

For they are the fulfillers of dreams, the makers of unique landscapes with a real feel to it, the creators of eccentric, yet entangling games.

And also die-hard provincialists. Not a bad thing, mind you.

Yeah, I like that about them too. Those central/eastern European landscapes have something to them (especially in OFP and ArmA II). Most of the other things you see in games are either full-on fantasy, or what do I know.

Quote from down there:

“We are quite open to modding,†he said. “Since it’s on CryEngine, it should be easy to mod, too.â€

If a good mod community spreads its wings on that one, it's a definite must-buy for me.

Simply Wow. I've always had some iteration of mount & blade on my pc but this very well may suck me in for the long haul. The horses already look great and I hope they're different skill levels of horses such as untrained to full on stud. The combat looks revolutionary and the devs passion and commitment seemingly very strong.

Hell im thinking of changing my name to Peter and sneaking in that office. Also why can their horses knock people over but our tanks steer like mad from sheep? This overtakes my excitement from Star Citizen quite a bit.

I've always gotten my ass (And head) handed to me in these sword combat games but this one looks so bloody stunning I'll likely buy it and spend some time learning it.

These guys look pretty proud of what they've come up with so far, That's a huge selling point for me, Devs with honest enthusiasm for their art.

Lets give a hand to Peter #1. Looks to be topping 40 but apparently still as energetic and mentally nimble as his 20 something comrades!

I'm looking forward to the next updates. The soundtrack work he describes sounds like something more original and memorable, I'd love to see that in a game again.

I've been playing Skyrim over the last three weeks, it's taken a few attempts to get into it since it's release but now I'm fully engrossed with swords and all things Nordic, I'm hopeless with magic and the whole leveling up thing but it's fun to play, I find myself constantly thinking if only it did some things differently, if only it was a bit realistic blah blah, and well this game looks like it ticks all those 'if only' boxes so really looking forward to playing it and hope it doesn't require 10 to 20 arrows to take anyone down! Those battle scenes look epic :)
