Helicopter stay after Transport Unload

Recommended Posts

Hello,

The heli drops the whole squad and then just stays there, sometimes hovering a meter above the ground. I also use a "move" waypoint after the "transport unload one ofcourse. I do use alot of mods, if that can influence this (ACE, cowarmodeace, many army mods,...).

Many thanks!

Is the Unload WP properly synced with the Get Out waypoint of the squad that's exiting the helicopter? How are you telling the helo to land?

Yes the get out waypoint is synced. I don't really tell the helo to land, he moves to the transport unload waypoint, drops off the men (sometimes by landing on the ground or hovering a little) and then just stays even with another waypoint.

...just some tricky idea:

  • lowering the distance between "transport unload" wp and "move" wp to bellow than 1500, to avoid bad path planning (mostly happen on Arma 2 vanilla, ...rarely on Arma 2 OA/CO)
  • set the pilot rank to higher than the squad leader rank
  • maybe the heli wait for sync, since heli already touch/complete his "transport unload" wp, so the squad must complete their "get out" wp too

Odd, when I use a vanila chopper it works fine also mod ones like from the lingor mod seem to work. But when using for example a VTE heli it doesn't. Conflicting with ACE or some other mods?

Ive always been able to get groups out of a chopper with any mod using the unassign vehicle command.

{unassignVehicle _x} forEachunits groupname

I use it in a trigger and don't even bother with "Get Out" and synching waypoints etc. You would have to name your group: group1 = group this in the Init of the group leader.
