[WIP] USAF Air Asset MOD

Recommended Posts

I have already integrated that script into a dynamic AI controlled air drop. Where a unit activates a addAction and the map opens up and depending where you click on the map a mohawk will fly to that location and drop the tank. I also have my script working on the new C-130J release but really for realism this C-17 is going to be perfect. The script above thou could easily be integrated for tank drops that a player can activate inside the aircraft.

thank you so much!

Looks amazing! Quick question.. Your front post doesn't say anything about helicopters so is it safe to assume that those helicopters in your videos are not apart of this mod?.. (I hope they are!) lol

The helicopters are from alpions heli pack.. I just did some minor modifications to it..he has the new file and it's up to him if he wants to release the new one to everyone after he adds in his newer modifications :)

the KC-135R is outmoded

New tanker is KC-45 (A330)

Yes I know but we still use them..I plan on keeping this mod coincided with our actual military fleet so when something phases out..it will disappear from this mod ;)

Congratulations in regards to your promotion, I know it is certainly a big change from being a SrA and as a former Security Specialist the duty schedule, training and deployments can consume a lot of time. The mod is shaping up quite nicely and I have no doubt it will be well received. It is really great to see people like Soldier290, you and the folks involved in this project bring our service into the light, showing the world what the United States Air Force brings to the fight.

I would like to suggest and recommend that you consider creating a "Boneyard" USAF Mod, to place the models into once the airframe is retired for active duty service instead of making them unavailable. I personally like and defended many of aircraft and weapons system when I was on active duty, so as you can understand I have soft spot in my heart for the "Pave Lows", "Pave Hawks", "Jolly Greens", "Eagle" and others. Today with all of the on going force reductions, who really know what will or will not end up at DM in the end. But by placing them into my suggested " USAF Boneyard" mod, us old timers will still be able to play with some of our favorite toys and the work will not disappear.

Landdon, first of all thank you for the congratulations..it's good to hear from someone who was from my section although your back when the field was two instead of one..and I respect that and thank you for your service and laying the ground work for the current security forces. Your idea is not bad at all..and makes a lot of sense instead of just taking them out of the armaverse..

For the "boneyard", once an airframe is withdrawn from service, make a corresponding change to its Editor 'class'? Keep the "_generalMacro" the same though.

I have made a script, that can make any vehicle into a static vehicle (you can make it be at 2,000 ft, ramps down, static, so that you can do halo jumps or start a mission inside of the plane cargo bay and be able to have guns in there and then run out the back

Could anyone tell me where are the flare pods located (precisely) on a C-17? They seem to come out near the ramp area but i cant find any good pictures :/

This will be so useful!

Ladies and gentleman i present to you the 98% complete AC-130U. Flies like a beauty and as deadly as they come..Only issues to get that 2% is when you fire the M102 and the L60 there isnt a proper projectile like i want it to be. Other than that its good to go. I hope you like the video that i put together. Special thanks to (DMM) Jones for the Orbit Script and sounds and the KevinDR the original maker. I also would like to announce the mod will most likely be available for ALPHA by 20 Mar to give myself and the people working with me some wiggle room for our real life events. Anyways enjoy the video and please comment.

fullerpj, have you given consideration to simulating the more recent AC-130J/AC-130W?

No beacause the AC-130J is not being fielded yet and the Whiskey while it was put into service its still undergoing major testing and a massive overhaul..when its done..this mod will try to replicate it if possible.

Look's very awesome, do all guns and pilot/copilot seat can be all manned by players and fire at the same time?

This is amazing, what does the cockpit looks like? Are there going to be custom scenarios included like some kind of showcase?

Amazing work fullerpj! This is what ARMA 3 needs: greatly done mods by people who have background knowledge and therefore create great content! And I like the fact that you focus on current aircraft. Keep up the good work man!

Yes you can have three ppl for the guns and pilot and copilot and all weapons will fire simultaneously.

Wow! The AC-130 looks really really good :D! I have one request though, would you consider implementing a camera lock feature? I sometimes find that it can be a bit a bitch to aim with these things. And I believe the real AC-130 has that capability aswell. It functions in the same way as the targeting system in modern battletanks that can keep their barrel pointed towards the target even when on the move.

I don't see why this can't work :)
