Iron Front as mod in Arma 3

Quick, dumb question: once I have IFA3 working, can I delete the stand alone IF install? IFA3 doesn't reference anything from there, does it?

Also, is anyone running JW Custom's mission on their server?

I haven't made any missions for Iron Front, just bought a few days ago but i sure will be making some :)

Yes you can. and no IFA3 does not.

Let me explain why, when you convert your IF initially the conversion tool makes a copy of your vanilla IF, and the new copy's files will all have a .pbo extensions, on them

instead of like the vanilla which has .IFA extensions.

So the @IF mod version now is a standalone game, IFA3 has files it requires to work but nothing from the vanilla Iron front.

The vanilla game wont work in Arma2Co or Arma3 as the files in it use a .IFA extension on them so its not possible to use them, as the game cannot read them.

i saw,in the IF forum, a custom skins for airplanes, is possible to use like hidden selection in A3?

there is a reference for to create the models, characters? like number of polygons, triangles and so on

Also, is anyone running JW Custom's mission on their server? I'd like to swing by and throw down on some play time.

The mod was never meant for Arma III. The handAnim directory was changed in the mess of IF mod folders and configs. So the Garand couldn't find what I put and panicked into Stretch Armstrong. I hope you can ignore it a bit longer till the fix release.

Dear All,

I have made major overhauls to my 2 latest SP/Coop missions today, on my steamworkshop. They are Panovo and Baranow map versions of my Op Ravenous mission, which is also based on the Staszow map. Please see the details below.

In summary, I have put in new versions of the F3 mission framework, removed TAW view distance and replaced with CH View Distance Script by champ-1 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?185770-CH-View-Distance-Script

I have also increased performance significantly by implementing ZBE_Cache AI & Vehicle caching by zorrobyte http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?179777-ZBE_Cache-AI-amp-Vehicle-caching-script-addon

Removed Farrooq's Revive.

In the mission startup parameters the mission admin can choose from 3 different medical systems and 3 different radio TS3 plugin systems:

Medical System options include:

BIS default; F3 simple wounding; AGM medical system

Radio options include:

Default BIS; TFAR; ACRE; ACRE2

Mission admin, can from the briefing screen, choose a range of Zeus options if needed. This utilses the F3 Zeus Support component which is a collection of functions that make it easier for advanced users to designate themselves, or any player, as curator ("Zeus") using the debug console.

IFA3 Co25 Op Ravenous Updates

The missions now also include more High Command (HC) options for those playing on there own or with a limited number of coop players. These can be controlled from mission leaders spot only. The HC options include:

3 x Polish Guerrilla Fighter Units;

1 x P47 CAS

1 x Sherman Tank and Crew;

1 x 2 man mortar team;

1 x 2 man sniper/spotter team

I have Arma 3 installed on my SSD while all the other mods are on my HDD. This also means that Iron Front conversion is installed on my HDD as well. The problem I'm facing is that the community update does not find my Iron Front conversion installation folder and I believe this is because its not installed in arma 3 folder.

Is there a remedy for this?

The update installs to the @IF folder if im not mistaken so, an idea is to make a copy of the @IF folder and move that copy to the SSD, and then try the update, if that works,

then just move the new copy to the original directory and delete the one thats there, idk worth a try, other then that I dont know of any other way around it, unless Kju would have an idea.

I just did a quick test. Me in Panther against 4, T34-76's rolling towards me. I knocked out first 2 and the other 2 actually backed up to get away form me. I have never seen this happen in any Arma. I was flabbergasted! They kept their fronts towards me as they backed up. One of the T34's was playing possum and waited until I got closer to charge and let lose a volley and as he did this the other 2 t34's stopped and charged me as well. I was able to dispatch all 3 but lost a track and 2 crew in the process. WOW!

Did you guys modify the behaviour of tankers now or add an ai mod to the conversion?

Amazing, so i only need to install Arma 3, Iron Front and then the Standalone package on PlayWithSix, right? (forgot how i did it last time, derp)

is there a changelog available too?

For some reason it says that the community patch installer can't find the Iron Front folder, because it's not there or it's corrupted.

If thats the issue use the tool kju linked and see if you can locate it and point the installer to the correct path.

No idea, didn't work, i have the folders in my arma folder in my Documents and in my game folder.

!!More updates for IRON FRONT today!!!

I just released the Arma III version 5.0 of my San6 mod. It's not as big as the Arma 2 version but it's a start. Here's a quick link to the Forum post.

Your problem is your missing the @IF folder, you will need to locate that or redo the conversion, i have contact with you on steam so will further help there if needed.
