Iron Front as mod in Arma 3

Overall the log so far shows that you are no longer loading most of the Iron Front files.

We have to determine now why.

You are just loading @IFA3 - you need to add the modset "Iron Front - ARMA 3" as well.

You find it either via search or the upper half in the featured section in the mods tab.

If you have troubles to find it, best watch the video tutorial.

Well, I found out it was some odd issue with corrupted files in my hard drive so after running chkdsk it fixed the corrupted files.

Anyway, I've now gone through the conversion process again and when loading the Iron Front modset (3 mods) I get this error: "Addon 'AIA_Characters_IF_Clothing_LIB_GER_Infantry' requires addon 'LIB_core'". After ARMA 3 loads I notice only one 1944 island listed in the Editor - Omaha Beach - I think it is. So obviously I'm missing some content. I noticed someone else had reported this same problem earlier in this thread but I couldn't find where anyone was able to give him a solution.

That was never the problem. I've always been loading the modset. I even created a new collection with only that modset and no other mods by going to 'featured' and selecting "Iront Front - ARMA 3" and selecting "Create collection with modset" which then created a new collection with the entire modset (3 mods). Then I right-click on that collection and select "Launch collection". I get the "Addon 'AIA_Characters_IF_Clothing_LIB_GER_Infantry' requires addon 'LIB_core'" error and it only partially loads the Iron Front - ARMA 3 mod because I only have one 1944 map in the editor.

Look JaySmizzle the screenshot you uploaded shows you are/were missing "Iront Front - ARMA 3",

so does the modline in arma3pc.txt (only contains @IFA3) and the rpt (lists the files loaded and the regular Iron Front pbos missing).

Finally the error messages at start-up tells the same.

So if you have tried to fix the collections meanwhile and it still doesnt work, please upload all the necessary files again.

By the way, I deleted all ARMA Steam installations as well as Iron Front and then re-downloaded and installed all of it and then tried to add the Iron Front - ARMA 3 modset again.

I also just noticed that when I load the Iron Front modset, on the ARMA 3 main menu screen it shows "Iron Front Version 1.033". My friend says his shows 1.08. When I load Iron Front in Steam it shows 1.05.

So... I guess Play With Six isn't installing the community patches like it's supposed to for whatever reason but it is with my friend's PC so... I don't know what's going on.

What do you mean, I haven't selected "Iron Front - ARMA 3"? As I said earlier, I selected "Iron Front - ARMA 3" from the featured mods and created an entirely new collection for that modset, then activated it, it went through the conversion process, and then I right-click on that collection and select "launch collection". How have I not selected "Iron Front - ARMA 3"?

You are right - it seems your Iron Front Arma/pbo version didn't get patched by PWS.

You have to two options:

1) Provide us the PWS logs: https://getsatisfaction.com/withsix/topics/where_can_i_find_the_log_files

2) Patch it yourself: https://dev.withsix.com/projects/lib-issue-tracker/wiki/Setup_guide_for_Arma_3_version

As you said it worked before for you, my assumption is that PWS still finds a second patch Iron Front Arma version and therefore no longer patches the current one.

Hey .Kju !

First of all thanks for you're work, iron front fits pretty well to arma 3 engine.

I am working on a machinima using you're conversion, and i am facing some issues :

- all the iron front units (all IF factions) got the exact same face, so a german tanker and a russian officer got exactly the same face, i have no idea why, i don't get this with the standard arma 3 units which have random faces (also during the background video, the units got the same face)

I've tryed some code in the editor, like "setface" or via a "decription.ext", that's working for the basic arma 3 units, i can change their face via command, but that's still not workin with IF units, any idea there ?

- my second issue is with the t34 muzzle fire animation, which look like in low res, resulting in big pixelation squares. How could i change that ? can i make that T34 as a slammer and then use the slammers animation with a t34skin ?
