J.S.R.S. 2.2 Soundmod

Recommended Posts

Not sure what you mean with "listen server". So normally you just allow the mod (adding the key to signature the addon) and everyone can join it with or without JSRS as the player likes. Loading JSRS on the server isn't recommended but possible

A listen server is the opposite of a dedicated server. You run the server on the same computer that runs the client. So, if the host quits arma, the server shuts down.

I don't know if there is a 'key' folder for listen servers.

I'll try it out and see if it works.

Thanks for this awesome mod LordJarhead!

Actually we are testing things here and there. The new update is besides the third party sounds not bringing much new sound effects. Its more an update to Distances and Volumes that make the sound a bit 'colorful' and adds more character to it. Not sure when its up. I think during the weekend.

Oh and be careful with such questions btw, its not liked being seen here :D Just saying :)

Keys do not work on a listen (host) MP server - only on dedicated. If there is an object in the mod that you can place in the editor... that will force clients to have that mod loaded.

Jarhead - Thanks for this great mod and your devotion to helping out other modders.

Ok,

good news and bad news:

Good: I think I FINALLY fix that directional, locational issue we had all along, where you weren't able to locate the shooter, seems like I found my issue, need some more testing but on a short stereo headphones run it worked brilliant!

Bad: The update will be giant :P

LJ

DEAR GOD that will be worth it. I've been killed so many times due to this. Congrats for figuring it out!

Big thanks for this awesome mod and the update! However...

Not sure if this has been reported, or if anyone can confirm...

It seems there is no 3rd person sound to the Mk200 LMG if used with a suppressor. In 1st person you hear it fine, just nothing in 3rd. You can hear the snap of the rounds if you traverse the view to the front, but that about it.

... this still happens for me with the 1.1 update. :(

Okies .. no problems here. I deleted my original JSRS without just overwriting ... all perfect ... many thanks LJH!

New patch frontpaged on the Armaholic homepage.

================================================

We have also "connected" these pages to your account on Armaholic.

This means in the future you will be able to maintain these pages yourself if you wish to do so. Once this new feature is ready we will contact you about it and explain how things work and what options you have.

When you have any questions already feel free to PM or email me!

WHOO! Gonna get it right now!

EDIT: Is it on Six yet? Because it says the latest version is 1.1, and that mine is "up to date", but I haven't run Six in a few days now and the update just came out today...

Something doesn't seem right with Six...total installed size of Six version is 1.89 GB, but downloading straight from Armaholic with all the updates, including 1.1, is 2.21 GB installed.

I think it might just be mislabeled as 1.1 but really is 1.001 or whatever.

I just d/l it and installed it as per instructions, @JSRS2.0 is in my Arma 3 folder.

Shortcut modline reads "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\arma3.exe" -mod=@CBA_A3;@JSRS2.0;@JayArmA3Lib;@ACRE

Also changed the audio sample rate to 128 like it says.

Problem I'm getting is the weapons sound very 'tinny'. Not hearing any base sound like a bullet fired, actually they sound more like air fired weapons.

I'm sure the problem is me, something I've done wrong?

I just tried the new version and WOW....What a huge difference with the directional sounds. It's easy to tell where the shots are coming from now, even at close range. Great job LJ...really amazing.

@-AMI- MoFo: The sounds seem very punchy and nice to me, with a fresh install. Could ACRE be causing a problem? I don't use it.

So how are we supposed to install this? Remove the old version and replace with the new one or overwrite the existing. The file sizes are much different from the old version with patch to this version. Great work btw LJ, completely transforms Arma3 ,thanks for all your hard work on this mod !

I adjusted my mod line to just CBA and JSRS alone and still the same. I checked the CBA folder and it's the latest version.. beta 4.

FFS why do I always seem to have the weird issues with arma.

I also noticed I get no reload weapon sounds at all either.

Can anyone else offer any suggestions please?
