AveryTheKitty 2626 Posted November 23, 2013 Could someone lend me camo samples for the CTRG, Snakeskin, and Multicam? Thank you.
Chairborne 2594 Posted November 23, 2013 Have you tried google? https://www.google.it/search?q=multicam+pattern&client=firefox-a&hs=MSi&rls=org.mozilla:it:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=rjORUp_MNYaI7Abzn4CADw&ved=0CDYQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=665 I found mine this way, but i think CTRG and snakeskin were made by BIS so you might think about taking existing patterns and then change their colors to match the ones BIS used. The snakeskin pattern is only on the CTRG helmets and vests. The CTRG razzle dazzle camo is on the uniforms, and used to be the camo version of the ghosthawk. I'd also like a sample of the CTRG camo though. For me the important thing is the camo pattern, not the color.
Chairborne 2594 Posted November 24, 2013 The swedish M90 camo might be a good base if recoloring it is not a problem. https://www.google.it/search?q=swedish+camo&client=firefox-a&hs=g0X&rls=org.mozilla:it:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Is2RUv7kHLSw7Ab7nYC4CQ&ved=0CDMQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=
antoineflemming 14 Posted November 24, 2013 A good base for what? Again, that's not the CTRG camo, snake skin camo, or multicam. You aren't helping the OP.
Chairborne 2594 Posted November 24, 2013 I know it isn't, you asked for the pattern and that's what i gave to you, you need to repaint it but the base is fairly accurate to the CTRG camo in game. Did you even open the links?
antoineflemming 14 Posted November 24, 2013 No, it's not. It's not even close. Have you even looked at the texture for the camo?
Chairborne 2594 Posted November 25, 2013 (from: http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/news/september05/tac/100_2311.JPG) Not too bad for a 2 min work in photoshop. :)
antoineflemming 14 Posted November 25, 2013 Again, it's not the same. The CTRG camo is a bunch of TRIANGLES. It's not the same as that WW2 splinter camo. I get that you're trying to help, but the OP wasn't asking for that camo. Nightmare515 was specifically asking for the CTRG camo, snake skin camo, and the multicam pattern that BI used on their vanilla A3 NATO US 7th ID units. Samples of those camo patterns. instagoat 133 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Pretty much the only public, HQ multifuck pattern you're going to find is Alex Vestin's (As used on his own US Army Units.). The snakeskin was likely done with either custom brushes or a mask in photoshop/illustrator. The CTRG pattern is pretty much just a stone-grey 2 color triangular razzle dazzle, I think it'd even be possible to hack something like that together by hand. I don't think BI have any of their own camo swatches published. Another thing we have is the hexacam, somebody posted a really really great .psd file a while back. Edit: sample shot from the texture. Tankbuster 1746 Posted November 25, 2013 We've already done the CRTG. KDK remade it from scratch. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?168700-WIP-CTRG-camo
lexx 1363 Posted November 26, 2013 Yeah, but it isn't released yet, so also not really helpful? :p
Tankbuster 1746 Posted November 26, 2013 As I say in the linked thread, KDK is currently remaking the texture. The original wasn't quite up to standard.
antoineflemming 14 Posted November 26, 2013 As I say in the linked thread, KDK is currently remaking the texture. The original wasn't quite up to standard. And his point is that that doesn't help the OP because, unless I'm mistaken, you're not planning on releasing that camo pattern to the community. OP isn't asking for units in these camo patterns. He's asking for the camo patterns themselves. So KDK re/making the texture to stick on some units and vehicles isn't helpful UNLESS he's planning on releasing that camo pattern to the community. ---------- Post added at 13:55 ---------- Previous post was at 13:53 ---------- Pretty much the only public, HQ multifuck pattern you're going to find is Alex Vestin's (As used on his own US Army Units.). CaptainObvious 95 Posted November 26, 2013 Only reason we've got a good hex/hexacam pattern is because it's really just the M05 pattern. Certainly isn't.
antoineflemming 14 Posted November 26, 2013 Certainly isn't. YES IT IS. Same as this one from Wikipedia. Unless that's not the real pattern, in which case BI still used that camo and it's still not original. Here it is for more proof (click on the picture): You want to know why it look similar? BECAUSE IT IS. Try again Captain Obvious.

CSAT's hexacam however seems to be made using the M05 as a reference.
Tankbuster 1746 Posted November 26, 2013 This is why antoine is, and will remain on my ignore list.

That's why I said similar... Gah. It's similar. Honestly, it's a hexacam version of whatever that Wikipedia woodland version is. Like, a hexacam version of that exact version. And, to me, that's "really just the M05 pattern". I do get the "molten" nature of the original M05 camo. @Tankbuster You're entitled to that, just understand that you're ignoring me because I was right and your post ignored the point of Lexx's comment. But if my post somehow hurt your feelings, I apologize. But CaptainObvious' post is the definition of "similar". I'd say it's more than a reference for that particular Wikipedia M05 pattern. Seriously it's like they took it and used a hexagonal pixelation effect on it.
Tankbuster 1746 Posted November 26, 2013 <clicked view post to read reply> You've been on my ignore list for ages because you often behave like an arse. You don't need to speak for Lexx, he's grown up. He didn't read the thread that I linked to where it might have answered his question better. I then clarified in the following post. I don't know if KDK will give out the texture. He certainly won't give out the current version because, as I said, he's unhappy with it and he's remaking the texture. Don't assume either way, he's a good bloke. I'll mention it to him next time we talk.

All I was saying, like I said earlier in response, is that the specific point of this thread was for the camo pattern to be released. That's the specific thing this thread is asking: for the camo patterns mentioned to be supplied here, or I presume, via PM. All I was saying was that mentioning a WIP addon that will use a recreation of that camo or posting pictures and links of camo patterns other than what the OP asked for was unhelpful. Not saying any rules were violated. Not saying anyone was stupid for posting such. Just saying that these things aren't really helping the OP out. That's all I'm saying. surpher 1 Posted November 27, 2013 Not asked for by OP, but here's a link to the hexacam sample thread since it was mentioned. CSAT Hexcam sample?
antoineflemming 14 Posted November 27, 2013 Not asked for by OP, but here's a link to the hexacam sample thread since it was mentioned.CSAT Hexcam sample? Yeah, that's the one I was talking about, the one that's based off of the Wikipedia one. I know cuz I'm using it for my mod, and it's a hexacam version of that one I posted. Looks just like the CSAT camo. But so far that's the only one we've got. I put up my 2048p version in my template pack, as well as the AAF camo and Russian camo. But other than those (those 2 aren't even perfect), that's all we've got.
