shiftysean 21 Posted January 16, 2014 Nice, so the actual lynx model isn't to your liking? :P I kinda have a thing for the ka 60, so consider me sold on that model xD Any plans then for the armed version aswell?
=kct=blackmamba 44 Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) the actual lynx we got ingame isn't the one used by the dutch. I know this is a "SA-365 Dauphin 2" helicopter, but is closest we got ingame to the "westland lynx" we used.. I am adding it to the MARSOF_FD package (2035 units) if someone could get a grip on the actual model I would love to add it to the MARSOF_MD package (M81/DCU units). or to the MARSOF_UIM package.. @ shifty, no no armed version. Daantjeeuh 10 Posted January 17, 2014 I find the Lynx pretty similar to the in-games hellcat as well, perhaps worth to look into? Also, maybe you can remove the optional weapon skins and just give the units the in-game black ones? Now it just gives two 'black' versions of the MX rifles.. where the MARSOF ones aren't even completely black. Not that I don't like them, but I don't find they add much to the units, and I think most people will use weapon mods anyway..
shiftysean 21 Posted January 17, 2014 It's his call in the end ofcourse, it being his mod, but I do agree that the ingame lynx looks a lot more similair to our dutch lynxes, specially as the tailrotor and entire tailsection of the other helicopter is a mismatch. I guess the skids and nose are the only things really stand out as being different. Also, if my sources are correct, then we don't actually fly any lynxes anymore: http://www.karo-aviation.nl/photo/pages/mldlynx.htm "The last Dutch Lynx flight was performed on 11 September 2012 by number 261, who flew her last hour ever leading a DHC helicopter flypast, after which she landed at De Kooij ... end of an era." So armaverse being in the future, we might be looking at a replacement helicopter by that time again for the role the lynx had (the official replacement is the NH90). =kct=blackmamba 44 Posted January 17, 2014 @ Daantjeeuh, the weapons used by the dutch marines are these : http://www.coltcanada.com/images/c7c8loaw-lsview.png (323 kB) that's why I made them two toned, ofcourse u can chose to use 3rd party addons and use whatever weapon u like that's up to u. @ Shifty, the reason I chose this chopper is cause of the wheels, the hellcat doesn't have wheels and the lynx we used indeed is out of service for a while now. the SA-365 Dauphin 2 isn't one we use but... who knows in 2035 ? if u ask me probably not but hey it looks great doesn't it. again if u don't want to use it the helicopter is added to the future marines package (MARSOF_FD) so u can always delete that .pbo and use the ones with current day uniforms (MARSOF_MD). shiftysean 21 Posted January 17, 2014 oww don't get me wrong, I'm willing to believe anything for the armaverse (guess I don't REALLY care about if it's actually possible). It looks amazing, and I'll be using it all the same as I don't really like the heavy nh90 for quick insertions. Rather have a lighter transport for that :p so the lynx or Dauphin will do :P I probably shouldn't actually talk about this yet, but I (along with a mate) are slowly trying our hand in 3d modelling. with me trying to get a leopard 2a6 model off the ground, and he's thinking of something (I hinted a cv9035nl to him). Don't get your hopes up, modelling is 1 thing, after that it's animations, sounds, configs etc:P Maybe with the help of these forums I can get somewhere (although I doubt I'll be able to do the entire thing solo).
