Mission 5 Scape Goat.

 

Ambush on convoy was strange. It looks like AAF soldiers are set to careless? I blow up tire in APC, 3 soldiers jumped from it and nobody do nothing, they didnt shoot. I killed all of them. The same situation with all soldiers in both trucks, killed some of them on trucks, few jumped out but nobody was shooting.

 

Also i think any from my team mates didnt shoot even once i have to kill whole enemy squad alone, i only heard my commanders voice "enemy 1 oclock etc" but no reactions from my squad.

Ps. playing on vanila game without any Ai mods etc.

 

I like the story so far in my opinion scenario is good,

Wiki I think that happens when you only damage the lead Strider. I suggest either giving the player a satchel charge or rewrite the instruction to place the explosive charge "on the side of the road". It's too weak to substantially destroy the strider if too far away from it.

Yes i think standard satchel charge would be better, with that what we have i made only small pufff ;) and only 1 wheel in APC was destroyed :)

Oh yes, that's normal mate!

If you play the prologue campaign, this is how the strider is damaged.

The charge is sufficient enough. I scripted so that the Strider is damaged that way when it gets hit.

The strider is not to be destroyed, only disabled ;)

Concerning the AI behaviour, I'll have a look at it though.

Ok just finished this campaign.

Very good work, i liked the story, missions are good but not long. Nice that you added some cutscenes, i only miss that there is no outro on the end of campaign.

Campaign is not so hard, i died only few times. Didnt found any bugs in missions or briefings. I had only problems with mission 5 (my earlier post). Big plus that we play as AAF i always liked campaigns where we are "bad guys" and we see the story from 2nd point of view. Not playing as team leader is also nice :)

 

My rating: 9/10

Thanks a lot buddy, I'm glad you appreciated that campaign that much.

As said, I'll have a look at mission 5. And sorry for intro / outro, it's just because I don't know how to handle that... :(

So, missions 4, 5 and 6 have been updated.

 

- Mission 4: tweaked a few things

- Mission 5: tried another way to have the AAF soldiers fire - should work better now

- Mission 6: increased the trigger radius for the extraction

 

Boths versions (SP missions and campaign) have been updated.

Can you tell me whether mission 5 works better now?

 

 

BE ADVISED

You need to play the missions in vanilla version, stable branch!

Otherwise, you may encounter troubles that I can't fix.

As Unsung team has released the Charlie version of the mod - which includes new Tanoa foliage and some bug fixes (which prevented me from working on Unsung), I can now announce you that I will make some Nâm missions!

Semper Fidelis

 

Nice one Wiki, had some nice firefights. Couple suggestions:

1. The team leader seems to have a death wish. He attacks down hill in the line of sight of something like 20 hostiles. I suggest to have him flank to the right or the left, it doesn't seem realistic for a team leader to attack like that.

2. The leader charges in to engage without stopping. I suggest having a pause before cresting into the second enemy compound and moving slowly the last meters and engage.

3. Another savepoint after the initial engagement would do good for players who doesn't use multiple manual saves.

4. Something to fire your M136 at will add a lot to the mission, especially for players who bothered carrying it through the whole mission  :)

5. I think the mission is better off without the misogenic and homophobic banter. I know you you want to recreate macho conversations between soldiers but there are other ways around without offending women or gay players.

4) Ah, just wondered whether someone would take it or not :D I did it on purpose, but if you find it does add something to the mission, I'll may add something. I need more feedback about it.

5) I can see why it bother you, but that's definitely the kind of conversations you can have IRL. I find it adds more realism - but as before, I would need more feedback about it.

Wow..this came out of nowhere (not that I know you were fed up with the community)... that´s a pitty, I (and many others, as I see here)´ve enjoyed a lot your single missions and campaigns and I pitty this leave, but you certainly have your reasons and we respect that!

 

... and we´ll still follow your work in case you have a change of heart (or resolve any IRL issues that caused this leave) ;)

[Edit] My sore eyes deceived me.. I´ve read "anymore" but it was "for a while"... everybody needs a break and you sure have worked a lot for this community as of late, Wiki! Take your break, enjoy other people´s work and get back when you feel the urge to it (the urge to Arma3 lol...) Bardosy did it last year, and got back with great stuff (his campaigns reloaded for exemple)

I just want to inform you that I'm porting a mission of my campaign "Aegean Spear" into a singleplayer mission.

It's the mission called "Spearhead". It will be renamed "First Strike".
