A patch or two more, and then we can let OFP die a slow graceful death that such great games deserve. As far as I can see, OFP itself, is still 100% BIS's code. Most other games only achieve year plus longevity by having total conversions, and mods that change the game radically. You say that Half Life is a popular game, but who plays HALF LIFE multiplayer anymore? Noone. And most people stopped playing it within 6 months of the games release. HalfLifes multiplayer life has been completely reliant on mods that couldnt have been further from HalfLifes subject matter. And really, the only reason people are still modding it is because Valve opens up like a 2 dollar hooker for anyone who wants to make a mod, and because HalfLifes code is so damn easy to work with. Why do you think people can hack so easily in HalfLife based games? Because the engine is so accessible that anyone can get into it and fuck with it. In contrast, OFP is still alive and well by any standards, over a year after its birth, and despite many problems. USMC is in Wargames, that has over about 12 squads and over 60 players, and so does the Combat Zone. Gayspy numbers dont tell the whole tale Hell.<span id='postcolor'> those were not gayspy numbers i got em my self both with ase and ingame browser, most games die because technolgy over takes them, it hasnt got near ofpr yet, or a better game comes along, that better game better hurry up then, so the game shouldnt be dying its like letting some one die when you can help them. OFP isnt just your average fps its a battlefield simulation not quake so dont expect to see quake players who want to play quake styles. The ofp community shows no signs of growing and the rtcw one is, its got a new addon comin out and standalone game that adds all new gameplay and abilities and bots. With over 60ppl in nz playin now and 6 playin ofp where would players go. All you will get is the hardcore ppl and i hate hard core ppl there upthemself dicks who think there above other games, there just as bad as cs kiddies.
