AI Behavior(Combat Mode) "Aware" -- the mission maker's beloved one ..

A quick way to end a groups WPs are to place a S&D in SAFE mode and a CYCLE next to it.

A quick way to end a groups WPs are to place a S&D in SAFE mode and a CYCLE next to it.

Well.. "Search&Destroy" type and "Safe" behavior just doesn't "fit" well..does it?

*For a surprise hit mission it will be sensible:

For Patrols "MOVE" with "SAFE"

For Guards "Sentry" with "SAFE" / "CARELESS" <-(on *some occasions)

Why wouldnt it? Then they walk around safe looking for the enemy. When they see an enemy they will automatically change modus and engage.

On what occasion do you want to use careless on a sentry WP??

Strange question.

Someone will think the only possible scenarios in ArmA is during a hot zone or...

every guard is (*hypothetically) under tons of coffee on his post..

No..i don't think it's true..even in war-torn countries (where drugs and alcohol is like your daily *tea)

..a human is a human :)

Do you know what the careless waypoint does? It's the same as safe except that the squad doesn't go into aware/combat upon enemy contact. They just stay in careless mode.

Exactly. Careless makes them truly careless. Good for cut scenes or scripted events when you dont want the AI to react on enemy presens.

Put a few enemy units on careless and you can walk around them, kill them, do whatever and they will not care. They are "careless". So if you put them on a sentry WP they will not care when they do get some info about enemies. If you want them to be "human" you choose safe.

Really thank you for the advices andersson & Xendance.

I 'll stick on "SAFE" until further tests-in conjunction with *popular AI mods.

Let's hope more mission makers will take under consideration tweaking starting behaviors -by scenario setting- from now on..

:)
