troymcc 12 Posted September 24, 2013 Hi. I have min. 30 FPS normally(in Arma3). When i start a Dynamic War(WholeLottaAltis, WholeLottaStratis, DUWS) all is ok. After a few Hours Gameplay(2-4 missions played) the Frames goes getting worse(down to 6), and the Game is not more playable. How can i fix this, if at all possible my System: Proz: Q9550 2,83ghz Ram: 8gb Gk: GTX 560 TI OC
Furret 0 Posted September 24, 2013 Have you contacted the relevant parties that make these missions? Surely your problem should be directed toward them?

Arma 3 is highly CPU dependent, I would recommend lowering your draw distance down to 700-1200 an let the other two auto adjust. See if that helps. But, what you are describing sounds like a memory leak. You can most likely (for now) just restart arma, and/or your computer to alleviate this issue. There is a patch that is coming out later this week for some performance improvements for most systems. Fushko 59 Posted September 25, 2013 It's probably related to the mission. If I recall correctly, SaOk (the creator of WL) has stated that disabling dynamic fog in his missions can cause freezing and AI not doing anything. Not sure if that' s what causing the issues though. troymcc 12 Posted September 25, 2013 Nothing helps. draw distance is 500 , partikel and clouds on standart. but the frames stable on 7 :'(. I remember that i have a similar problem in OP Flashpoint, when i put to many Units in the editor...
Fushko 59 Posted September 25, 2013 Set your GPU to the standard clock. Download Driver Booster/SlimDrivers and update everything that shows up. Try overclocking your CPU (2,83 GHz is pretty low for A3)

An overclock would do you good, but not much. You can probably bump it up 3.00Ghz without any discernable difference in power or thermal
Ezcoo 47 Posted September 25, 2013 Go to your desktop, right click -> Nvidia control panel -> check 3D global setting "Power saving mode" or similar, set it to "Prefer maximum performance", make sure that there isn't exception for arma3.exe. Might work, might not, but worth of trying (and there's really no reason to use power saving mode with GPUs anyway (excluding some extreme cases), it tends to cause much more problems than what it actually helps. It's not always a good thing imo. This setting makes your GPU run always at maximum clock, even when it isn't needed, leading to overheating issues.
Ezcoo 47 Posted September 26, 2013 It's not always a good thing imo. This setting makes your GPU run always at maximum clock, even when it isn't needed, leading to overheating issues. There's something definitely wrong if running GPU at normal clocks (especially at lower utilization levels, that is the area that the power saving mode affects) makes it overheat. If it happens, it's time to clean the GPU from dust... :p The problem with having the power saving on is that it underclocks the GPU when the load level of GPU is under certain level. This caused major issues in Arma 2 for example, when eg. playing in MP the GPU utilization level became so low that it triggered the powersaving mode of GPU and basically cut your FPS to 50% of normal. I suffered from this for months too, and using the "prefer maximum performance" setting basically doubled my FPS in MP. Same might happen in A3 too, so it's at least good to test that are the possible underclocks causing the issue.
