Does ARMA3 crash immediately upon startup? Read this.

I know it is likely that most of you aren't having this issue, but, for those that are, listen up for a potential solution!

My machine is running Window's Vista and I was having instantanious crashing upon startup. "ARMAIII has stopped working"...

Do the following if you're having a similar issue;

1. Ensure "Service Pack 2" is installed (if you've got Vista).

2. Ensure you've got "Direct X 11"

And lastly, 3; KB971512 must then be installed... (Find that here; http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12870 the link is supposedly for Windows 8 however it worked fine with my Windows Vista....)

That should fix your issue. :)

From what I've read as-long as you've got DX11 downloaded the KB patch should work. :) I may be wrong though... Hopefully someone with a little more know-how is reading and can shed some light...

Not sure any thread, especially one specifically for Vista, should have that much caps and that many exclamation points in the title.

I find if it crashes on startup, I start it in windows mode and all good.

all of the above didn't work on my win7 machine.

This did.

right click arma3.exe and click "Run as administrator"

I only needed to start the game like this once.
