Sword Of The Stars: Ground Pounders

A hex-based sci-fi strategy game featuring the tanks, aircraft and infantry of the Sword of the Stars universe. This is a cross platform card wargame for pc and android (possible for mac, ios, and linux devices too if it makes it stretch goals or later down the road if it doesn't).

You can play your turn and send your info to a buddy and when they get their turn done they send their info to you so you can easily handle playing the game at your convenience. Campaign, scenarios, skirmish, ai, 2 player, human, hiver and tarka armies. You can find it on kickstarter. I'll post more info...

This crowdsourcing project for the next game title in the Sword of the Stars universe is going strong for all of September, and I recommend any sci-fi strategy game fan check Hawawaa's first link at the very least. The Kickstarter front page is beautiful and really well done, and any gameplay, mechanics, multiplayer, art, lore and "card game element" questions you may have is likely to be answered in the various updates.

Personally, I find Kerberos' general attention to detail astounding in their game design. Everything in the SotSverse has a purpose, a backstory, a functionality. And it all has an impact on gameplay, making for an involving experience. The universe (SotSverse) alone is worth checking out, with lore books and even an original sci-fi novel titled The Deacon's Tale published.

What we have here is honest, good folk making innovative games with bold design, despite the risks involved. If you think this is worth supporting, don't hesitate. See you there !

They switched back to Indiegogo site, they set the goal to 20k. Kickstarter made under 22k for 42k goal. So making it should be easier this time. Indigo has a option even if they get under goal they still make it. The Pit was just over half funded goal and was their fastest selling game to date so all is good. Haha, I can see how one might feel some units are little "plastic", from looking at the GP campaign intro screenshot. The vehicles and ships in the SotSverse tend to be fairly well-polished and authentic, however. If anybody remembers the original Starcraft's Alpha... unit art had a very long way to go before looking like it does today =P
