@Nuno_Basto, it should be possible to find out, what account TADST use to start arma?

First idea: taskmanager (while arma server is running), tab->processes, select 'show processes from all users'

Then add this user to the privileged users/groups via secpol.msc. Restart. If this not work immediately, try to start TADST via 'Run as Administrator'.

Your log seems to confirm, what i already assumed, when investigating dwardens server log files.

What mission did you run here?

@SpanishSurfer, your log file tells, that your system probably runs great.

There are 100% large pages available, even if your system is up for nearly 4 days, before this session started and you had only 7.6GB phys. RAM free.

Only suggestion for your system:

Check your logfile from time to time and find out how often you have to restart your box (fallback). I think something like once per week could be enough for such a clean system.

If you want support research, you could run the experimental build. There are some more data in the logfile, to investigate internal behavoir under arma load.

EXPERIMENTAL BUILD UPDATED:

- overhead caused by fragmentation reduced significantly, from upto 40%, down to just +5% (experimental build only)

Please test this new build and post me your log file.

Especially on long running server, a much lower memory footprint should be observable.

LP problem SOLVED! It was that "Administrator thing", just went to the properties of the arma3server.exe and puted it to start as administrator.

I am getting LOW ON MEMORY error while playing. I am using 50% of total RAM (8GB) and my page file is set to 16GB also barely used. In total RAM and page file together I use 8GB of 24GB

I tried this memory allocator as well as others. SIGH. ArmA 2 works fine however.

Your log seems to confirm, what i already assumed, when investigating dwardens server log files.

What mission did you run here?

SP mission 'Breaking Even', iirc...

@Nuno Basto, some hints for your system:

- restart yourt box more often (system is already 34 days up and 6GB phys. RAM are already occupied before arma starts)

- set a pagefile of fixed size, use the recommended size as a start (~24GB)

- disable applications/services, wich you don't really need

This way you would improve the availability of large pages on your system a lot.

@jonashendrickx, i am a bit unsure, how i can help you.

It seems to be a very specific problem on your system (wrong mission, virus, what ever).

Was using the experimental version in MP last night and my system completely locked up (no BSOD, just sound turned into a buzz and picture froze and I had to hard reset). After rebooting and removing the -malloc=tbbmalloc I played for several hours without problem.

It may have been nothing to do with the malloc of course and I'll have to test offline to see if I can trigger it again.

@doveman, thanks for your report.

Such crashes can have many reasons.

Sometimes you find valuable informations about the crash reason, in your related .rpt file.

The malloc log file that you posted is only 12 seconds in duration, so it is probably not related to the crash.

Some few crashes, i got in the last months, were all related to phys_x.

Intels memory allocator is very solid coded and the modification i made, are only of subtile nature.

@Fred41, yes I thought the chances of it being related were slim. I'll make sure to check the .rpt file if it happens again. I need to make sure that I reboot before playing ArmA3 as well as I don't think I've had any crashes when I've done that.

Could you please post the full log (to pastebin, i.e.), because i need more of this 'BS:' lines inside the session?

The Zeus-module crashed ArmA, so there's no more to this log... Will post some others.

Nope! The Server is going to be restarted tomorow,... Because the server is also used to host 3 simracing servers running 24/7, and they are a bit resistant to restart the server!

When I start ArmA 3 as administrator, I get error message that your memory allocator doesn't work because it's corrupted. I tried the stable version. Any idea what possibly could have gone wrong? I disabled UAC also.

The stuff i currently try to verify, requires longer arma runs.

Specifically, because i have to observe the evolution/accumulation of some overhead/buffers.

If you could provide more longer logs (perhaps via pastebin), this would be helpful.

Everybody else:

I still need logs from arma servers, running the experimental build for many hours/days !!!

I have gotten it to work, I have set permissions in secpol.msc to my current user which I use to log in plus the Administrators group. Might be a good idea to detail this for non-geeky persons, took me some time to figure out.

Which servers here are running Fred's memory allocator? Might be a good idea to list them here so we players can help filling those servers to help out Fred's debugging.
