Joint Task Force Hydra is a recently started project headed by me and a couple of friends of mine. Our goal is to combine to the best of our abilities realism and fun! We abide to NATO standard ranks with a Major heading the unit on company level, 1 infantry platoon and an aviation and artillery detachments. All of our members are experienced and disciplined with a couple of USMC veterans. All of us have been in at least one ARMA 2 realism unit before organizing this. The reason we've chosen a JTF designation instead of a real unit is so we can have more flexibility and freedom in our regular ops - for example we can play US Army today, US Marine tomorrow and then replay the same op as Insurgents if we want to! Server base: We're looking forward to growing as fast as we can, so we have procured two top of the range physical servers with an extra one on the way. They're all based in the US, but we guarantee low ping all over the world. On top of that, our experienced map maker has full control of the headless client so our ops are 100% guaranteed to be lag free! Further more, if need be, we can host ops with over 100 people with no problems whatsoever. Trainings and Promotions: We have a fleshed out trainings and promotions system in which we sank countless hours of hard work and it's guaranteed to give everyone an enjoyable experience and completely get rid of random undeserved promotions. We host regular bootcamps and trainings on Saturday at 1200 EST and an operation at 1700 EST. Other than that, we get together each evening and play Insurgency, MSO, Domination or other fun gamemodes. If there's enough people to go around, ops can be organized on the spot at any given time. So far, the only thing we're missing are members! We have about twenty members so far, but hopefully that's about to change. Even if you don't feel like joining, you're welcome on our Teamspeak server (listed on the top) and on our game servers (filter "hydra"). Recruitment: To join, hop on the teamspeak and ask around. Our only requirements are: Maturity - we don't care about your age so long as you behave yourself. Everyone is welcome, after all we're there to have fun. A microphone - Unfortunately we consider it unacceptable to play Arma without a microphone - it's impossible to conduct squad tactics without having a direct, seamless link between everyone. Decent knowledge of English - as I said, we're an international unit and the first requirement is that everyone understands each other. An original copy of Arma 2: CO with ACE2 and ACRE. Beyond that, the sky is the limit - everything and anything can be taught and learned. Qualifications: These are the qualifications you can take upon joining the unit: BCT (Bootcamp) - Mandatory upon joining. Teaches you the basis of operating in a squad, the chain of command, radios, equipment, navigation, etc. -CLS (Combat Lifesaver) - Mandatory upon joining, part of BCT. Teaches you the basis of the ACE wounds system, how to respond to a casualty situation, how to perform Triage and how to be helpful to your medic. AR (Automatic Rifleman) AT (Anti-Tank) GR (Grenadier) CM (Combat Medic) DM (Designated Marksman) Instructor - to reach the rank of CPL, it is mandatory to become an instructor in at least on qualification. Motorized FAC (Forward Air Controller) ART (Artillery) NCO (Non-commissioned officer) school Aviation training is separate and not mandatory for ground units. It is separated in two parts. There are also three optional qualifications: EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) Airborne/Airassault Sniper school And that is all! The doors are open and everyone is welcome.
