Delta Hawk

US Military Mod (80s, 90s)

Recommended Posts

Thank you for the kind words Pathaber. The faces right now only work with faces01-107 using the normal "this setface "face##_usm_cam#"".

I'm still looking to putting them into ArmA3 but considering I don't have ArmA3 yet it might be awhile. I still haven't "accepted" Steam yet. lol

I'll eventually get there, I'm just really busy with other stuff right now. I know a lot of people want to see this mod in ArmA3. There's a lot of cool features, but I just haven't got around to getting it yet.

So is it a plausible expectation (theoretically) that there will be some new vests for A3, that

come directly from content showcased in your A2 modification? Because these vests and an

entire selection of LC-2 NSN equipment is spot on. I think if you were to release these with

some drop leg holsters attached (think early 2000's onward) You'd have a solid early 2000's

mod. I've begun work on the Officer uniform from A3 (it features an LC-2 "like" belt) and i've

got them in DCU and BDU formats. So maybe that would cut down your dev time as well..!

Eh, just a thought.

There will be so many different versions of 782 gear I can't even begin to think of the number of different combinations. There's the LBE and LBV vests, plus the PASGT, RBA and IBA body armor, and at least 8 different set ups for different roles, plus two different sets for the Army and Marines, so that ends up being a lot of different vests.

I'm working on a project that will offer above 500 uniforms, and it only took me about

3 weeks and the quality is roughly BF3/BF4 HD. So hopefully maybe I can work with a

range of options requested by yourself. Albeit these are correctional reskins of the A3

vanilla content to try and rectify some of these horrible issue's such as low texture's.

M1 helmets would be cool. Invasion 1944 has some, perhaps they might be willing to let them be used in this mod. :)

Yes Laqueesha, it would be nice, but with a little enhancement to match the details accuracy of this mod. :)

i ask that to Delta, because i 'm making a mission with Delta's units (among many others :)) and some other Delta's retextured with odgreen and switched to the east side (via .sqm) for using in lingor and other jungle look like island to make a south american regular faction trying to match the 75\85 era.

And i can say that, I've been searching for an east faction who look like this....but (with all the respect I have for other addon makers and theirs hard work and the most of them are really excellent), since I've playing with Delta mod, many of other characters textures slightly burn my eyes.Since the first realease of this mod i've become an aesthete ......:p:), and if Delta get time (and obviously want to do that ( like the threes M1 in the first link of my previous post...hehehe )) an M1 would be perfect to reach my goal (a little bit weird at the historical point of view but...i'm not a specialist, my bad, i'm still learning and sadly i have no knowledge in addon making).I think it could be very useful for many mission makers and for many reasons too, and could really extend the possibility of this amazing mod.

 Cheers mates

Something like that could be cool for both side with slight adjustment via textures in editor (weapons,backpacks....).

...Don't know if the last pictures is a phoney guy (the camo look weird...) but those pictures are just for giving an idea.

It's more than likely a phoney picture. That would be of an Army soldier from 82' 83', but the quality of the picture looks like from a few years ago. The M16A1 looks brand new but they were anything but that in 82' 83'. And he has the wrong sling. The undershirt looks green, which only Marines wear those, instead of the Army brown. The camo for the BDUs and helmet looks like it's the ERDL pattern, which might be accurate since this was the transition phase from the old 70s gear to the 80s 90s gear, but very, very few people got those specific BDUs if any. The plastic snap belt buckle is probably wrong too. More than likely everyone used the metal hook and loop kind of buckle. And his boots are tied the wrong way. I'm pretty sure it's a very well done phoney.

The M1 helmet sort of belongs to the era of Vietnam. I'm going for the late 80s, 90s and early 2000s military. That picture of those Rangers in Grenada is very manipulative. Rangers were the only ones still wearing the old 70s fatigues and that promptly ended after Grenada. I would like to make some Vietnam era equipment though so I could use it for generic militia forces, but I don't really have the time. But for now the only M1 I will probably make would be the light blue ones for the U.S. Navy.

It is a lot of effort, time and patience to put into this.

Wow.....your knowledge is impressive, and teach me lot of interesting things, thanks for this very accurate answer Delta.

I understand you've choose a specific way to achieve you mod in term of era details and accuracy, and I respect that.and mod is obviously not your only activity!

keep up your excellent work, and i'm really impatient to see the amazing things you prepare and working on (if I well understand) !!!

Thanks Delta.

I'm a treasure trove of worthless, trivia information. I'm pretty busy with another project right now that has nothing to do with the ArmA universe though. Yes, I have been cheating on ArmA. :D

I'm not sure when I'll get back around to this, but it won't be for a while as this project is very time consuming.

Actually, I take that back. I'm still working on my mod. :D

I'm starting a weapons pack for my guys using the ArmA2 sample models and some other models people are lending me. I would like to say it's going to be great, fantastic and awesome, but truth is it won't be. I'm not a scripter so I can't do a lot of what I want to do, like create incendiary grenades, weapon jamming, weapon resting and machine gun tripod mounting. But I'm going to make them as functional as they are in real life as possible. Rifles will have the proper elevation markings and adjustments, pistols will be more user friendly, certain firearms will include the ability to look over the sights for close range combat (so yes, Mp5s will actually have a use! Already have it in game and it's already 300x better!), mil-dots will work on scopes that have them, you can carry a backpack and machine gun as per real life, all weapon names will be as per U.S. Army nomenclature if they have one and real gun shot sounds will be recorded at "The Ranch" for a few weapons.

I'm also going to include all the period correct launchers I can and I will tweak the mortars and cannons. This will include making the rate of fire more accurate, especially for the M252 81mm mortar. I have a special spot for the M252 and you can fire the mortar as fast as you can drop the rounds. If I get ambitious enough, I'll create the SL3 gear for the mortars and cannons. I'm also going to create a M1097 HMMWV as they are the primary movers of the M119 cannons. I'm not a scripter so I can't make it to where you can transport the M119s with the HMMWVs though :(

I think this will be a relatively simple addition to my mod.

I've tried to create my own textures for this mod on photoshop and saved it as .paa then tried to load the textures like the readme says, and all I get is a black texture fill where I've tried to add my owned custom maid patches and nametaps.

I don't know what's going on. I save it as a 32 bit tga, then use texview to convert it to a .paa.

All it's showing now is a shape of where a patch is supposed to be and showing the black outline background that was in the psd file revealing where goes where. And I did the same thing too, except I can save it as a .paa file strait from Photoshop. It might be because I'm not doing it right.
