Heth_9702 10 Posted August 27, 2013 I have Arma 2 (Full CD version) and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead (Full CD version) I updated my Arma 2 to 1.11 which is the latest one and updated it as well in DayZ Commander. I first tried to install Arma 2 Operation arrow head patch 1.62 but it said that I needed the 1.60 patch first so I downloaded that and tried installing it but I get this error which is so frustrating. I downloaded 1.60 patch twice just in case of a corrupt file but still the same result. Need help please I really want to play DayZ. I also did it in the right sequence: 1. Install Arma 2 2. Run game 3. Install Arma 2 OA 4. Run game 5. Patched it in DayZ Commander 6. Patch Arma 2 to 1.11 7. Patch Arma 2 OA to 1.60 (but failed). I honestly don't want to re-install these two games again. So the problem looks like this and when ever I click ignore more error comes up... ---------- Post added at 03:50 ---------- Previous post was at 03:48 ---------- Sorry for double posting but had to post this without the image because I needed 1+ post to be able to post something with image. 5133p39 0 Posted August 27, 2013 I am not sure about patching the game via DayZ Commander, maybe it does something wrong? applies wrong patch maybe? I would try the old fashioned way of patching only with genuine BIS-made patches - which means, you'll have to reinstall both games if you want to try. BUT, before you do, try searching the forums, i would expect this topic to be already covered here somewhere. Or maybe this link can help: http://www.armaholic.com/plug.php?e=faq&q=

Or ARMA2/run it, 1.11/run it, then OA/run it, then patch it up. Ignore missions.pbo if you have to, and see if sombody can send you it. its abour 2mb~ with the sigs. I have had issues with certain pbos being borked on install and have just taken them from a old install. Though your issue with missions.pbo maybe related to the EW fix? Yeah, I'm not really looking forward missions but everytime I try and patch it with 1.60 it gives me error and when I press ignore a whole lot of error comes up like the whole file is basically corrupted but it can't be because I downloaded it 3 times now or more. What do you mean by ARMA2/run it, 1.11/run it, then OA/run it?
orcinus 121 Posted August 28, 2013 When you install A2, you need to run it once to ensure that all the requisite files (e.g., arma2.cfg) and registry entries have been created. Then you should install OA and run that. The OA installer will need the A2 registry entries to co-install correctly. You should always check the arma2.rpt and the arma2OA.rpt after an install & after every patch to make sure there are no unusual warnings or errors. If you have BAF, PMC &/or ACR (full or lite versions) you should install them before patching with 1.60 & 1.62 so they get any necessary updates as well. You say your downloads "can't be" corrupted. Did you check the file hashes against the ones on the download pages? (Get WinMD5sum if you don't have a tool already). You should always check the hash before running a patch, a single-bit error can break the entire installation. The errors in your images could be interpreted as meaning that the patch finds an error in each of the 2 already-installed files, not in the patch. Perhaps the file you used to patch A2 before you ran the CO patch was corrupted? Depending on the version on your A2 DVD, you may not need to update A2 separately. If it is v1.05 or higher and the DVD OA is 1.50 or higher, applying OA patch 1.60 & then 1.62 will update both games. If it is an earlier version, just patch it to 1.05 then run the two CO patches. I now have ArmA X (IIRC versions 1.09/1.59 on the DVDs), so all I needed was to run 1.60 then 1.62. I did run both Arma2 and OA (CO) once each after the 1.60 patch to check there were no errors before running the 1.62 patch but that is probably not necessary. It's always worth backing up the game files before a patch (it's not necessary to back up mods) if you have space elsewhere. If a patch fails, delete all the game files & folders & copy back the originals (safer than copy & overwrite in case a patch has added a new file incompatible with the older version). If you have used a broken patch file & didn't back up first, there are only 2 options: - reinstall then patch with hash-verified files; - try manually patching those two files, i.e. extract the originals from the DVD(s), copy them over, then extract the relevant update files from the patches (use 7zip to unpack the patch .exes). See Dystopian1's post for more details. I suspect a reinstall might end up being quicker unless you have a reasonable understanding of what manual patching involves. kklownboy 43 Posted August 28, 2013 Y What do you mean by ARMA2/run it, 1.11/run it, then OA/run it? When I install A2 and OA from DVDs. I install A2 start it, then patch it up, and start it again before I install OA. This helps find any early issues if there is any with A2. I also at this time save the whole A2 folder, for back up if OA is throwing errors on its install.(Saves on time for a A2 reinstall...) I have had really bad corruption issues with the DL patches. I have used different patch combos too. Pain in the ass forsure. On your OA disk, what version is it? Then there is the Secrom issue too, that can happen when doing the Disk installs. Sometimes you have to reset your DVD/CD drive to correct it. Its a simple uncheck recheck the DMA box, under "Device manager/IDE SATA controllers/ ATA controller of your DVD/uncheck DMA recheck.(have to rt click for properties, "advanced settings" till you find it)" When you get a good/working A2OA install, save the damm thing.
