ArmA3Sync - launcher and addons synchronization software for ArmA 3

Recommended Posts

I changed the file.

I also had island dualla to update in the repository and it works !

was 300 odd mb instead the whole repo.

No flickering if the upload indicator.

Think that it is a go ! ;)

Is there anything simple I can do, so that ArmaSync recognizes the Mods I have subscribed to via Steam Workshop ?

Hi there, I seem to be having a problem where the icons for some stuff are massive. I haven't tried to fix it yet as I thought you might like a bug report. Appeared after the most recent update.

What is your screen resolution? Are you using text up scaling option from Windows settings (I suppose no)?

I seem to recall in the earlier versions of ArmA3Sync we found that mod lines (Launcher Options Run parameters) showed up in alphabetical order. But recently we have been having a problem with our modset and looking at it now some mods are appearing after what appears to be alphabetically sorted mods before them. This is an issue, like many communities we override existing mods features with updated settings and without an order being defined things wont work properly. Any clue what is going on/what changed? Any way to reset the order of the mods so they launch in a defined order again?

No Scaling Options and it is the same on both my monitors, one is 1080x1920, other is 1440x3440

I guess you have 2 screens in dual where the 3340*1440 is the main screen. So when ArmA3Sync is launch the 3340*1440 resolution is used as reference to determine the icons size.

It is technically not possible to adapt the icon size and text size up scaling when moving the main window from one screen to another.

What I can do is to add into menu Help -> Preferences the ability to enable/disable icons rescaling for your unusual screen format (21:9).

Let say I download from a repo mods with name A, B and C. Once done I change the priority of launch like C,B,A.

Now I download a new mod from the repo call D. The new addon priority will be like C,B,A,D => new added mod are put after the previous ordered ones which is not less/not more logical than auto reseting the order to alphabetic.

There is also a reset to alphabetic order button available (the red cross).

I've been using your app for my community for a long time now and for whatever reason forgot to post on your thread and thankyou for your continued effort.

So Big Thanks from the Zeus-community. I would be lost without your app, its by far the easiest app to control and host an addon pack, both for Linux and Windows

The issue Bright is getting at, is that even when you only ever download off one repository, the load order will change if mods get added and there is no way for the creator of the repository to enforce a load order. It would be a very useful feature if, when you join a server, you not only load a certain modset, but that modset also gets loaded in a particular order.

If the file structure is like !workshop\addons\...then !workshop folder is seen as a mod.

You should have: !workshop\ModFolderName\addons\... to get ModFolderName as a mod.

Alright, found out that if:

Addon search directory is:

Arma 3\

Arma 3\!workshops\

Or

Arma 3\

Then my problem happens (!workshop folder seen as a mod. So steam workshop mods arent listed)

but if:

Addon search directory is:

Arma 3\!workshops\

Then the steam workshop mods are listed. But this is a problem because i also have mods in the Arma 3\ directory that i need :(

Working fine for me here whatever the path like \Arma 3 or \Arma 3\!Workshop or both

ftp://www.sonsofexiled.fr/ArmA3/ArmA3Sync/development/screens/arma3sync_workshop1.png

ftp://www.sonsofexiled.fr/ArmA3/ArmA3Sync/development/screens/arma3sync_workshop2.png

Could you check if another folder with name !Workshop exists within Arma 3 directory?

Hello,

I want to create a repo for my unit. I've read the documentation and watched some videos showing the process.

In my first try A3S created a .a3s on the server as well as in my local folder. But I weren't able to upload stuff to my ftp server through A3S program. I've got following error:

Upload repository
Failed to upload file: @RHSAFRF/addons/rhs_infantry2.pbo

Also A3S tries to upload RHS into @ALiVE which can't be right. The missing(?) file can be located within the local modset folder. I can normally access to the ftp server with my account. As stated above the RHS files are uploaded though A3S. So a connection was established successfully. Here is the part from the upload from the ftp logfile:

After trying a few times with different options the "build repo" option isn't creating a .a3s file on the server anymore. Only on my local modset. I can reproduce this behavior with an kept .a3s folder on my local modset as well with a deleted. In this case A3S is creating a new .a3s folder locally, but not on the server.

Nevertheless the public auto-config url is correctly created in any case.

I can't see any failed login attempts. As well as I can log into the server with Cyberduck normally.

What do I do wrong? Can someone please help me on this one?

Edit: I deleted RHSAFRF and the same problem occurs with another mod. I start to believe that the ftp server has a problem with A3S and somehow creates /@ALiVE/addons as the new root folder. Any ideas on that?

Edit 2: I've also uninstalled A3S, deleted the leftover files on my hard disk, and reinstalled it into a clean installation. This caused the same problems again.

Edit 3: I've created a subfolder (mods.<domain>.<tld>/repository) and now it is working normally. But still the .a3s folder wasn't created. Will it be uploaded together with my modset, or do I have to upload it manually through my local repo?

Thanks!

Miller

Hi Major Shepard,

Firstly thank you for created such a great and efficient tool for the ArmA community!

This is the first time setting up a repo with Arma3sync and I have went through the installation instructions as well as 3rd party's videos on how to set it up but I keep coming to the same issue as seen below.

152134329f.png

I have tested the FTP with anonymous and also a set user and both users have read/write to the repo folder (c:/Arma3SyncRepo) and all sub folders - ran a wireshark trace off of my server and my computer and can access is granted to the /.a3s folder but I don't see any mention of a problem to the /.a3s/sync

Thought it might have been a passive mode issue but enabling and disabling make no difference to the FTP side as still shows access is given (successful. "/.a3s" is current directory.)

All necessary ports have been ported including the passive range I set in testing but it seems to be an access issue which I can work out, so hopefully yourself or someone might have a suggestion to what might be the cause.

At the moment I am lost to what would be causing this.

Hi,

Issue resolved.

Passive mode on the FTP had to be setup, this is quite confusing as it had already been tested (I believe :) ), I guess it was one of those situations I was too impatient and making too many changes I never properly tested. Feel a bit silly since it was right in from of me and a quick good search shows 425 is related to access issue.

Tip for anyone who has a server on a routed connection (basically you are behind edge device with a completely different IP than yours) you will need to setup passive mode. A quick port check can be done by the FTP response for the passive mode, example; 227 Entering Passive Mode (176,31,106,184,255,231) take the second last number and * it by 256 then add the last number, so 255*256+231 = port 65511 - so this will give you a clue to what ports are attempting to be used.

For my issue, I was seeing ports all over the place so I had to manually set the specific ports under the Passive Settings and then setup an Inbound rule on the firewall to my server IP.

Regards

Robbo
