ArmA3Sync - launcher and addons synchronization software for ArmA 3

Recommended Posts

I have a problem with the newest version. I put in two different repositories CORRECTLY (went through the process also with a friend), but the thing is the Synch doesn't even try to connect to the internet. My firewall reports to me every connection request and I approve or deny manually, but I don't get any request from this program. Then I get error from the app "failed to connect to server". I also tried manually adding permission for it, but still the same.

Same thing try my repo: http://www.sonsofexiled.fr/a3s-repository/.a3s/autoconfig

Also try your repo url with a web browser.

Cheers for all the hard work, this app makes working with mods a lot easier, this said arma3Sync doesn't appear to support SSL, could we get this please?

I currently have my repo hosted in google drive (http://455667fc0159629f9922face166607c0dfa3f278.googledrive.com/host/0BxGpmRShxo8DfjV2SnBoeU50bkI0S3RuTndLSGhKMFlENGFZMHhoYTJ1bVlZaFIwQnJRbDQ/)

However, this is non-functional with arma3sync as they do a HTTP301 redirect to the HTTPS (SSL Port 443) which throws an error.

Also the client force appends http to the front of URLs which would break https.

Any chance we could get this added?

It would be really nice to make use of google's datacenters for the files.

I had a quick look at the zsync library and it looks like it might not be too difficult to add support for https although I have lost my link to the related files / code.

There is no problem with Zsync and Https but there is one if google drive does not support partial file transfer ^^

I am not saying that ArmA3Sync supports https just that https is not a prob with Zsync algorithm

Thank you so much for this update. Repo upload without the need for non-stop full upload works perfectly again, just like the changelog says.

Hello,

Recently I had enough of using PWS.

But I cannot manage to create my own repository.

What should I do, and do I need to upload thos mods to somewhere?

First of you need a FTP or a HTTP server to host the files.

Best choice is to hire a dedicated server like this one https://www.online.net/fr/serveur-dedie/dedibox-scg2 put a Linux Desktop on this and a Filezilla FTP server (simple to config) or a Apache HTTP server (more complicated).

Then follow instructions here http://www.sonsofexiled.fr/wiki/index.php/ArmA3Sync_Wiki_English#Use_as_a_server_administrator

Alright, And for example: if I have this site: http://1st-msob.com/ powered by https://www.1and1.com/linux-web-hosting (unlimited package for 0.99$), it will work??

Do you have access to the host machine (remote desktop /terminal)? If no (I guess) you will need to build the repository locally and then upload it via FTP to the server using ArmA3Sync upload command.

Be aware that ArmA3Sync require the HTTP server to hold partial file transfer which is sometimes disable by hosters. In this case you will have no other choice than using the FTP to share the files.

Got you, Unfortunately this server does not have remote desktop (I am sure)... So the process will be more complicated, do you any tutorial to solve my issue?

Same link as previous, only difference the repository is built on your pc (see Repository main folder location) then uploaded via FTP.

Hey folks,

I am trying to update and upload a repository, but whenever I click upload I get the following error message.

Click me!

Has anyone got an idea what's the cause of this? Has it to do with the lack of access rights?

Thanks in advance

Missing rights for creating remote directory or subdirectory.

Missing rights for creating remote directory or subdirectory.

That was quick!

Thanks for the heads up. Was just what I presumed.

Great launch thanks for the hard work. I don't know if it was just me but updating from Armasync made my MARK and HELI DLC's become unavailable. uninstalled and reinstalled previous version and now they are back.

You don't need to add the DLCs, there are automatically launched by the game.

Plan for next update:

- Next major update of ArmA3Sync 1.5 will add compression of pbo files into the repository as an option.

- Compression algorithm used is seven Zip LZMA2 which shows a 30% compression ratio on average with pbo files.

- To waste minimum time during files synchronization, ArmA3Sync should be able to uncompress pbo files simultaneously with downloading.

- People who use repository upload will have the choice to upload only compressed pbo files. But will lost partial file transfer from zsync algorithm if the repo is host on a HTTP server.

- Expected to be out in a couple of weeks.

I really like the sound of using "streaming" compression (well, I know it's not streaming but the effect kinda mimics that ;D).

So, just for clarification when using HTTP;

Me as a repo maintaner will be able to upload both compressed and uncompressed .pbo's, so for the users that doesn't have file X at all it will download the complete compressed .pbo, and for the user who already has file X (but in an older version) it will use the .zync-magic to only download changes to file X?
