- Standard marksman unit.

- Zeus support.

- Squad XML support.

- Weapons to vehicles.

- Side Empty no longer restricts units to only AAF Desert variants.

- OpFor no longer show as two AAF factions.

Known Bugs

- Dropped weapons ignore modified hiddentextureselection -

- Gorgon and Mora with incomplete hiddenselection -
.

Ver 2.0

Added

- Hellcat unarmed and armed.

- MBT Kuma

- FV-720 Mora

- Gunner (Mk6)

- Gunner (Mk30)

- Gunner (GMG)

- Asst. Gunner (Mk30/GMG)

- Asst. Gunner (Mk6)

Fixes

- BLUFOR and OPFOR AAF Desert updated with current changes.

- BLUFOR and OPFOR vehicle crews are side specific.

- UAV now works on all sides BLUFOR, OPFOR and INDEP.

- Replacement headgear added for Marksman, Light Rifleman, Officer, Explosives Expert to match standard AAF.

Known Bugs

- MBT-52 Kuma retexture not working on other variant. Reported to feedback.

- UAV Backpack for the OPFOR and BLUFOR changes texture after unassembled.

- Some minor vehicle texture bugs are still present. Until BIS update the models further there will be nothing I can do, this will hopefully fix itself in time.

- Standard rifles show as Mk20 variants instead of F2000A. This is because I haven't given them a name and the plain rifles don't come with any. Not a big deal it doesn't effect the weapons in anyway.

Ver 1.1.3

Fixes

- Officer uniform returned back to the AAF version.

Ver 1.1.2

Fixes

- Officer uniform showing as OPFOR (Must have been some class replacement by BIS).

- Unmanned Ground Vehicle RCWS turret not showing as AAF Desert camo.

- Mk20 MRCO showing up as invisible for replacement pack. Removed the class and seem to fix, might only be temporary will keep an eye on it.

Added

- Groups to the AAF Desert units.

- Added scenario mission "Showcase: AAF Desert". I use this to check for bugs but it can also be used to take a better look at all the units available.

Ver 1.1.1

Fixes

- Strider missing from Independent Car class.

- CH-49 Mohawk listed in civilian side instead of Independent.

- Titan launchers changed to desert.

Ver 1.1

Addons added

- aaf_d_veh.pbo // Vehicle addon. Contains vehicle classes and textures.

- aaf_d_wep.pbo // Weapons addon. Contains weapon classes.

Optional PBO files below are not needed but can be added to enhance experience.

You can add the replacement pack and both OPFOR and BLUFOR packs at the same time.

- aaf_d_rep.pbo // Replacement pack. This will replace the standard green AAF units with the AAF desert units.

- aaf_d_blu.pbo // Add AAF Desert faction to the BLUFOR / WEST side in addition to the Independant AAF Desert.

- aad_d_opfor.pbo // Add AAF Desert faction to the OPFOR / EAST side in addition to the Independant AAF Desert.

Class added

- Multiple backpacks for different classes. FieldPack and Carryall variants.

- MK20 weapon with attachements desert version.

- Ground vehicle units. Quadbike, MRAP variants, Zamak Truck/Support variants, APC, UGV.

- Air vehicle units. Helicopter Transport and two Jets (CAS/AA).

- Standard INDP Vest class 1 changed from AAF_D_Plate to AAF_D_PlateCarrier_IA1

- Standard INDP Vest class 2 changed from AAF_D_Vest_GL to AAF_D_PlateCarrier_IA2

- Standard INDP Vest class GL changed from AAF_D_Vest_GL to AAF_D_PlateCarrier_IAGL

- Boonie class changed from AAF_D_boonie to AAF_D_Boonie_B

Known issue

- Ghillie suit model texture repath not working. Grass texture will remains the same as version 1.0.

- Internal vehicle model texture repath not working. Inner vehicle will remain the same.

- APC Gorgon part of the model is still standard AAF colour. Should be fixed once BIS update model.

They look like they look good, downloading now. But for future reference, when you take pictures, turn them or the sun (change time of day) so that you don't get shadows covering them. You only have a few sections where we can see the camo clearly. Show them off, they look good.

Check the screenshot gallery if you want to see some of the units without any shadows, click the actions button when you hover over the image and click view full screen if you want to see larger images.

Anyone else good with the camera feel free to post some here.

They do look really good... think I found a bug though, I was trying to stand next to the rifleman class and it seemed to have had invisible walls... anyone else?

Took some screenshots, if you want to use them you can. And I also must ask, will you possibly do this camo on the rifle as well?

Good job so far though!

Can you go into further detail about this? I haven't tested them in-game that much except for viewing. I will take a look tomorrow and hotfix if it is a bug.

As for the weapons I was going to skin them and probably will. Might wait for the full release to see what else comes then I'll do it all at once. Along with the backpacks and hopefully camo helmets.

Nice screenshots. Nice to see what other people can do :)

I can clip into the soldier, and in the next screenshot you'll see I can't get any closer to the front of him..

I've done my own test with my units and with standard. I don't think its an issue with my addon. It seems like its the game itself. It is detecting that you are carrying a weapon and pointing it outwards towards someone else. So it is keeping the space there to avoid weapons going through the model. That's why you can clip in from behind or sides but not the front. Interesting. Maybe a dev could comment on this :P

Pointing weapon at a unit without a weapon.

thtcB01.jpg

Now Neither of us have weapons.

SEXUyJ8.jpg

Both units have weapons. See the distance.

GmvzxaX.jpg

Now only one unit has a weapon. See distance again.

Great job, man. Desert camo does more accord with the color of the Altis.

And I hope you could also retexture small arms, cars, armors, helo....everything of AAF.

Now it makes more sense for an arid enviroment like Stratis.

I think these suit both environments quite nice, but I would like to see some desert maps with these in when they get released.

Updated this post

Update on what I've been doing for version 1.1.

All units are now fully kitted out in AAF Desert. That includes helmets, hats, vests, backpacks, uniforms and weapons.

9pSPdpZl.jpg

AAAKlcMl.jpg

HDxyHrml.jpg

Vehicles are also in the works as you can see from the above image but I will wait for release to skin the rest of them.

I've also renamed a lot of the classes and images as I got a bit confused with some of the class names I gave them. I didn't expect to make this addon as big as it is, the addon size has grown from 25MB to 71MB.

There will be now 4 addon files in total.

aaf_d // Main mod folder

aaf_d_veh // Vehicle mod folder

aaf_d_wep // Weapon mod folder

Lastly aaf_d_rep which is an optional replacement pack. It will replace the standard AAF with the desert ones. So you will always see desert skins on the AAF.

Not long left till release then hopefully I will be ready to release. I'll Keep posting updates for people interested.

I've started using your units and I noticed you are missing the "rifleman at" you have the missle specialist but not the light at guy.

I see you started with vehicles. I think bi made a bad decision to make everything the same for every faction. But since all the turrets and guns on all the vehicles are the same, why stop with only AAF vehicles? Retexture the blufor and/or opfor vehicles too. In fact the real striders look like blufor colors and are used by the same who use hunters.

These textures look better for the islands than the green.

Added the LAT guy in 1.1. I missed it out in 1.0.

As for the BluFor vehicles I'm not sure what you mean? You want BluFor and OpFor vehicles texturing like the Desert Indep camo?

Will be releasing the update after release to see if there is anything else I can add.

Don't put Blufor and Opfor vehicles in the AAF Desert camo... if anything, make a sepiatone, desert multicam texture for blufor. Go look up Desert Scorpion camo or Desert Multicam. That would be different.

I really have no intentions of going into BluFor and OpFor retextures, at least not for now.

This addon is going to be reaching 100MB by the time I'm finished with all the retextures and there is tons of coding, so I think I've done enough for now :)
