Hey Jarhead, really appreciating your good work.

2 things I have to mention though:

The explosion sounds are not realistic, they're sounding too hollywood. I'm sure you don't want to hear it, but "ACE soundmod" got it quite right. It would also be nice if the bullet crack sounds had more diversity, and wouldn't sound like they were all recorded with a different recording device.

Issue with 0.075

Compared with the other helicopters it's extremely loud inside the AH99 Blackfoot, it almost sounds like the cockpit is open.

I´m quite sure that many sounds are still placeholders.

Jarhead, I'm noticing that if you're not looking directly at a vehicle as an infantry, from the ground, they're very quiet. Its only when you turn to look at them EXACTLY that they actually are noticeably audible.

I also noticed that when in third person, in the vehicle, the choppers are very quiet unless looking directly to your 6 o'clock. This was also the case previously with the HEMTT when I was trying that out too.

Is this localized to an issue on my end? Or a known issue/by design?

That sounds to me like your game is set up in 5.1 and you using a stereo devices. Had exactly the same problem while using stereo headphones while the game was running in 5.1 still.

Is each update separate? or can we just download the latest and get the whole mod? (thats done so far)

You need all updates in the order that have been released!

The explosions sounds good to me, I'll keep them like this for now. They'll change later on anyways.

Any general idea how to fix this?

it probably has been said before but please put up a full version for each update. it's quite tedious how you do it now. i realize that this is about files sizes but you should really consider having all pbos uploaded separately and just have them all be the latest. because right now (as i understand) you have us download more data than we need just to save yourself upload time :p. i know it's nit picky but separate pbo mirror's would save everyone involved time and effort.

thx for the great mod. firefights feel dangerous again. keep it up!

Thanks LJ. Looking forward to try it out.

Guys it is still WIP Alpha. Don't expect a shiny one click installer.

If you want to check your copy see spoiler.

Ghosthawk sounds doesn't work, class name in config is wrong - refers to CH-49 (Heli_Transport_02_base_F) instead of UH-80 (Heli_Transport_01_base_F).

Also with JSRS explosions enabled some of the bigger ones are not audible at all, such as tank/plane blowing up, bigger munitions aswell.

Really great work! :)

Sorry to disagree chaps, but LJH can upload it any way he wants. He is doing us a service here, and if he wants to package it that way, then I'll happily download! I haven't encountered any issues (click top file - download, click next down - download, etc)

Totally agree but, some of us have busy lives (work/kids/etc-not to say others don't btw) and i'm usually on top of things ;) just sometimes easier to one click.

it was just a suggestion.

And a good one :)

Keep up the good work LJ , even though it's very early in the life of the Arma3 version, the immersion it brings to the standard game is quite incredible.

So am I ;)

I stated multiple times that I will make package versions as soon as we reached version 0.1! Before that there are too many changes and you would download the whole mod each time again, even things that does not have been uploaded. So the current system is way better because so far you only got new content instead of updated old ones (except explosions).

Thank you.

That Sig is so true!

Yesterday I did a little test. I let my little 16 years old brother play Arma 3 with my Roccat Kave Headset.

Scenario: Assault on Charkia from the Workshop.

First test: Without JSRS

He basically tried to play it like a shooter, pretty straightforward into the town, even when under fire.

Second test: With JSRS

The very much improved Mortar Hit sounds were the first thing he noticed, he advanced towards the town and started to take fire. His reaction on the sonic cracks could be described by "Holly shit WTF is this" *runs to cover and sends his team forward.

I know what you mean..but there isn't much reason to combine Apples and Oranges as one pack.

People around they are familiar on both super mods-although Blastcore may cause significant performance issues in low end computers in a "busy" battlefield

I have to say I like the Recordings, but I dont like the idea of pre baked reverb.

I hope the planned indoor sound system will work out..
