Arma 3 - Sneak Preview Livestream

As part of our countdown to launch, we'll be hosting a Launch Sneak Preview livestream hangout on Saturday, August 10, at 17:00 UTC. Live from Bohemia Interactive HQ in Prague, the session will be streamed on Arma 3's channel on Twitch.tv. The session is expected to last about one hour.

Based on our previous livestream experience, we welcome you all to submit questions in this thread - some of which we'll try to answer during the livestream. Thomas Ryan (Designer) will be hosting the hangout, supported by Arma 3's eLeads Jay Crowe (Creative Director), Petr Kolar (Encoding Lead) and Joris-Jan van 't Land (Project Lead).

Overall, we aim to select about 5-10 questions. Please note that our focus is on Arma 3's launch content, so questions about the campaign will be addressed at a later date. The status of fixed-wing aircraft in Arma 3 will be detailed further in the next SITREP.

How much and what kind improvements from feedback tracker do you plan to include in Arma 3 after release? Name at least some ;]

Do You already have plans for DLCs(what kind of DLCs?) and when are you going to release them/it?

Are You satisfied with ALPHA/BETA sales for now? :P

What has happened with additional content that we've seen in some screenshots(F35, shotguns etc.), when and are you planning to release them?

What about java support?

Do you plan to improve game mechanics?(medical system, radars, flares(for example: being able to interrupt ir locking), better missile locking system, better javelin simulation etc.)

Btw. Guys... please post questions here only :P, it will be tidy at least. Saying "thanks/nice idea/awesome" is pointless and makes a mess ;]

Just to be clear, once the game gets released there will still be 2 different branches on Steam, the Dev and the Stable branch, is this correct?

I was very let down not to see any official "Warfare" style missions included in the Arma3 Content Info.

I always considered this mission type to be the classic crux of the franchise ever since it was originally released for Operation Flashpoint as "CTI". It's been available in every version of the game since then and was included out of the box in Arma2...why not Arma3?

Nevermind, dont really need an explanation as for "why". All that really matters is that it's not comming.

I have just one wish: Please show the map of Altis as much as possible. No need for exact details, but the topography and the type of terrain on the island would be lovely to see. Would help the mission designers a lot and speed up the development progress, so that community developers could publish their work as soon as possible after release.

Is BIS going to provide free content updates of assets that there shown during development but not included on launch? Such as the Osprey, F-35, shotguns, XM-25. What about entirely new content such as new jets to fill the lack of fixed wing aircraft?

Is BIS planning to take care of some of the most popular issues/suggestions on the feedback tracker? Such as weapon resting, firing from vehicles, rendering grass at long range.

Post release will the dev branch become compatible with stable branch servers (like arma 2 and A2 beta patches), or will it remain as it is now?

edit: Whilst this is a little off topic - Once things start to cool off a little with Arma 3 development, are there any plans to release an arma 2 OA 1.63 with ACR lite integrated? Currently it's hard to use ACR units in a multiplayer mission as it seems most people don't know how to manually download the lite patch!

Yes, it would be nice if the livestream focuses on the new content, show us the Merkava, MLRS, mobile artillery,drones, a tour of Altis in the 143 Buzzard jet

Will any CTI missions be added after release at some point?

What was the original direction of the game that was canned and caused you to have to throw away so much work?

Any news on TKOHFM for post release?

Does the new MLRS have any improvements over the Arma 2 rocket artillery?

Do the new UAVs work the same as Arma 2?

How will we operate the new Stomper/Saif UGV?

Will we get technicals for the FIA, assuming they're guerillas? Or for that matter, do the AAF get new vehicles to keep them on par with others? They're MRAP is a Strider and they're only helicopter is a heavy lift chopper, so yeah.

Lastly, when playing Altis, will eating Oreokastle give us health if we got shot defending it? :D

I think it's in their best interest to do that asap. that way at least 'the community' can start making content for it in time for launch

That's a very interesting question...... I know it's up to BIS where resource goes but I certainly would feel better knowing that the team strength wasn't diminished until all campaign and additional content was out and bug-free

I would agree with this wholeheartedly. For new players to the game who may take the plunge with no released campaign it may be reassuring for them to know there's x number of decent community made missions out their for them to download early on.
