[SP]Dynamic Universal War System (DUWS alpha0.1)

Hello,

my new problem is I can not use the support after loading the savegame when Im playing with another guy.

I have to unlock a new support everytime and then I can use the "old" supports again.

After loading a savegame there is NOTHING in the menu of communication. It is empty.

Sitrep is even not there.

Is there a workaround for this or I have to do like I wrote everytime.

The problem is, someday there wont be any supports to unlock.

Can you help me with this?

I can confirm this... I have the same problem

I also must say that it is not helpful when i try to unlock a support I have unlocked before.

* Squad members would sometimes get 'stuck' where they would refuse to move anywhere (this happened about 3 times). I think this bug has been around for a while, for example I have experienced it on Stratis before.

Regarding the bug (above) where an individual squad member refuses to move, I observe it when the AI setting is on Commando. I'm not sure if it occurs on other settings. I have experienced in in both Regular difficulty and Veteran difficulty.

I just tested the game with Enemy AI skill and Base Friendly AI skill both set to Veteran, and also had the bug with the squad member refusing to move. It occurred after engaging the enemy. The squad member was doing a lot of scanning the horizon.

same problem here with team members stuck in place. Sometimes they will just lay low, sometimes they can change posture but wont move from the place. I tried to wound them and having them healed by themselves or by the medic, but at the end they just stay there and turn around pivoting on their dick. I have to shoot them down and buy another one.

I've noticed that saving and reloading the game (in SP) fixes the AI not responding bug. This will also sometimes fix the AI not attacking bug but never for long.

I don't know much about the AI scripting in ARMA 3 so this may be completely off base but every time I see the AI not attacking bug it seems to happen after either a reload of the game or after entering an opfor vehicle. I don't know if possibly there is an issue with strings or not. Maybe when entering an opfor vehicle you and your team are placed in a "neutral" string and it fails to take you out? Could be that loading the mod breaks the team assignment for blufor and or opfor?

ive reloaded that lots of times, but to no avail. i realize they are stuck just after winning an area, so the game autosaves just fnie. BUt every and each time i reload they are still stuck.

Brilliant mod, my favourite game by far (wanted this for so long)

Can't wait for other armies to be added (hint hint :D )

In the above pic my chopper got shot at before it landed, it used flares and decided to hang around in the air.

Later in the game I ordered a boat taxi, got in and got the message in the picture when I tried to give it a destination.

BUG:

I got a helicopter support call. I loaded into the chopper, then went to give a new LZ. I ended up clicking several times in the area I wanted since the LZ script takes a while to set the LZ. The spot was on the far west end of the island (I was at base in the east). The chopper flew about halfway, then made a big circle, then flew back to base and hovered over base, then repeated the prior move-circle-return.

First of all, this is THE BEST MOD for ARMA 3 yet! well done! A game mode I can enjoy alone and with my friends on the same server! great work!

now to some problems I am having:

first up Side Mission:

Overwhelming dragon: I am supposed to find an enemy power station and sabotage it, problem being, there is no power station at the given location. ( I am playing Altis un modified DUWS)

second MAJOR problem: (please note, I am not fully aware of high command etc... yellow team etc, since I cannot see the tasks anymore since side mission overwhelming dragon cannot be completed)

I spawned as team leader alpha, I recruited some single soldiers and ordered air borne infantry, these were all under my command. My team shot down an enemy attack chopper (MI-28) and this crash landed without exploding. Both pilots got out and were shot by me. I then proceeded to get the helo repaired by my repair specialist who just kept running against the left stub wing of the helo without repairing it.

I then decided to respawn as a repair specialist myself. In doing so I gave up command of the first team. I was now a minon to the computer squad leader. OK, I thought, I repaired the helo, brught it back to main base and respawned selecting alpha team leader.

Now here is my problem: I spawn as team leader 1, but I am not the team leader, I am not in command of the squad I built and still have an AI subordinate. If I kill him he just respawns.

Is there anyway to seize back control of this squad? these guy are blocking some of my vehicles and I cannot order them to disembark.

Hi

I have read the init.sqf and i edited the variables as instructed. however it didn't do anything to stop the random placement of the HQ and enemy zones...

i then proceeded to experiment with the different files including going inside the 'sp-cox_duws.altis.pbo' file and changing the variables in there too. That resulted in me getting an error stating "data file too short". This error only occured once i tried to open the 'scenarios' tab from the home screen of arma 3. I took measures to correct this error but it did not help at all :(. please tell me if im not editing the correct file or if im doing something wrong because i'd love to have my own personal campaign for my friends and I.

By manually placing the enemy zones you can have any scenario for a fight that you can imagine. You could place several small enemy zones around and inside a large town. and have an epic battle! :)

Oh ok so i've figured it out :/. i had to go to Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\profile name\missions and place the folder from the download in there. the open map editor in Arma 3 and set everything there. afterwards the mission is probably exported and played as a scenario. my bad :P. thanks for this awesome mod Kibot!

First let me start off by saying that this is a great mod. I have been editing the mission myself for a while. I am new to modding. I want the soldiers that I buy to automatically spawn with the custom load out that I have created for them. I have found the class names for the support that you can buy. "B_soldier_gl_F" and so on for each class. My problem is that I don't know where to go to change his default load out. Any help would be highly appreciated.

You and your team should enter the enter the "Make Arma not war".

If you continue to develope your mission you could have a good chance of winning. :)

I just updated the mission, now you can choose the maximum distance between the zones and the HQ, and you can choose to manually place the HQ by yourself at the mission startup.

Also, I re-enabled the dynamic weather, but you can choose to disable it at startup.

I will probably enter the contest, but this means that'ill have to rewrite all the third party scripts myself (VAS, battlefield cleanup, and other peoples contribution). I'll see.

It's been a while since I last played DUWS and it was in a multiplayer mode I hosted. Then DUWS worked correctly, but now, in singleplayer at least, DUWS startup dialog does not seem to trigger when I start a new game. Nothing happens after the player (and a bunch of friendly AI footmen) is spawned at the origin of the map (middle of the sea). Has there been some regression to DUWS or is the problem at my end? I tried with ARMA3 without mods and with CBA_A3 (DUWS doesn't need that, I know).

If I change the manually place zones option to true then I don't get the startup dialog box except for the one which asks for manual or random placement of HQ.
