@Katsopolis - Laser pointer works fine here in mission, and Task Radio is a 3rd party addon...so sounds like both of these are mod related issues and have nothing to do with the mission itself...so I wouldn't have an answer for you there sorry. Maybe someone who uses that radio thingy can chime in to help you figure it out.

Currently in drawIcon.sqf deprecated type of frame handler is used onEachFrame. It breask compatibility with some mods, including TFAR: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?169029-Task-Force-Arrowhead-Radio&p=2584580&viewfull=1#post2584580

Thanks to Kibot for this great Mission! Simple & effective mission with indeed a good replayability

and Thanks to BigShot for the great work adding a lot of nice features (even if I will only be testing this tonight :o )

BigShot: could I propose to you to create a new Thread concerning your modified version? On the original post of that thread, it would be a lot easier to read all the updates you've done. Reading 95pages of posts to see what has been done is a bit long :D

Porting this to dedicated servers would be great, even if I understand this could be a lot of work

@Katsopolis - I'll look into it, as I know little about what effects that may have. Kibot is not currently working on the mission these days and is not usually available to answer questions or to brief me on why he never made the change that you proposed awhile back...so I hesitate to make the change before he speaks out about here...hopefully he can answer here and shed some light on the matter for me. If so, then I will make the changes for you at that time.

Appreciate it. Since ACRE is no longer being updated, Task Force Radio is really a squad's only option for radio comms, so it would be great if it could be used with DUWS.

*** NEW DUWS MODIFIED UPDATE RELEASED FOR APRIL 3RD, 2014 ***

New As of April 3rd, 2014:

- FOB REQUESTS IN GREEN ZONES ONLY: you must now be located within 250m of a friendly green zone's CENTER to request/build an FOB. You can no longer build one anywhere on the map, nor in enemy territory.

- Added SlammerUP M2A4 Tank (55cp), Stomper UGV (both armed (20cp) and unarmed versions (10cp). *Note* to control the UGV's you'll need to grab yourself a "UAV Terminal" from the Armory/Misc/Items

- Chopper Taxi: the sliding doors and smokeshells have now returned!

- New Startup Dialog Options: added more choices for maximum distance from HQ (2km,3km,4km) when creating enemy zones. This allows for improved compatibility with some smaller 3rd party maps.

- "officer killed" alert messages are now broadcast to all connected players, instead of just the host.

As always, both the PBO & Steam Workshop versions have already been update...just re-download and install!

why is it that when i die, I do not respawn? I just have that load game or abort game menu.

...because there's no respawn in A3 SP Scenario mode. Run the mission by hosting an in-game LAN Server (for playing alone) or Internet Server (for playing with others). The instructions for starting an in-game server are on my Steam Workshop's page in the PINNED discussion section.

I've seen this being asked this before once or twice, but I feel that the performance drop would be detrimental to ALL the AI if I should add civilians at this point. If you keep stressing your machine with more and more AI then the fighting AI will at some point stop responding or be too slow to respond and some folks are already struggling with this to some extent. The drop in performance just wouldn't be worth the small effect that the civilian AI have on offer IMO (they're pretty silly and walk about like zombies anyway). Thank you for the kind words though...I'm happy whenever I see people getting a kick out of this :-)

Count me in, i am playing this mission whenever i have time, right now i use it on Chernarus from A3MP, my used Addon is Weapon Resting.

So far i can tell you, it works for me, hopefully this time i can finish before my HQ is overrun.

The default Base defenders fail their job, i must remember to place some high command team near base for quick response.

But losing doesn´t matter, it is very replayable because all that dynamic stuff!

Yep, I had the same issue - as a quick fix, I added a "Request Patrol" function to the HQ action menu, which spawns a capable 8-strong squad patroling the HQ. -> PM me for file, if interested.

well gentlemen...there's sort of a new unlock comming in this next update this week...it may help for those times when you forget to request a defensive HC squad before you leave the HQ...There are now 6 new HC units you can actually unlock in the support menu and when you unlock them they will appear in your 0-8 menu for use at anytime or anywhere you need them. Here's the new snippet for release of what's made it into the next update:

- 6 NEW Support Unlocks for HIGH COMMAND Fans!!:

After Unlocking these in the Supports list, you can call them in your 0-8 menu:

High Command CAS Plane(25cp to unlock + 15cp per use)

High Command Attack Chopper(25cp to unlock + 15cp per use)

High Command Air Transport (10cp to unlock + 3cp per use)

High Command Ground Transport HEMTT (8cp to unlock + 2cp per use)

High Command Repair Team (8cp to unlock + 4cp per use)

High Command Refuel Team (8cp to unlock + 2cp per use)

*These 6 new items can only be "unlocked" at HQ, and then used anywhere on the map you wish. You cannot unlock them at FOB's.

- Listbox Auto-Scroll Issue fixed in the Request Units Menu (no more wacky scroll behavior when unlocking supports).

- CBU20 Cluster Support Unlock now has smaller footprint, takes slightly less time to arrive and is cheaper to unlock (was using too large of an area and too many bombs before).

- Fast Travel/Teleport: increased time it takes to fast travel to 30 seconds (instead of instantaneous). It is highly recommended, if trying to flee an enemy attack, that you begin the teleportation from INSIDE the FOB so you will not be shot during the virtual "travel" process.

- HALO: cost increased (25cp to unlock + 8cp per use) AND height increased to 2,500 so it now takes 30-40 seconds to reach the ground.

- Some CP cost adjustments for purchasing certain individual vehicles & squads (armored, air & artillary).

- HALO: Can no longer Halo within 1km of a red zone's center. Your clickspot on map must be a MINIMUM of 1km away from the center of any red zones. Also, height increased to 2,500.

- NO MORE SUPPORT UNLOCKS AT FOB's (due to the new RE-LOCK feature mentioned below).

- THERE ARE NOW SQUAD UNLOCKS AT FOB's (limited: only 3 to choose from including fireteam, AT & AA and they cost 50% more than buying them at HQ)

- NEW SUPPORT UNLOCKS FEATURE: You can now RE-LOCK 17 of the 21 supports from the support list after you've unlocked/purchased them at HQ(except for armory, pFlir, halo and specialist training)! - Fixed a bug remaining from orginal duws: public variable was not properly keeping track of which side owns which zones at any given time, and this broke anything that depends upon that info (i.e.still being able to create fob's in recaptured red zones, warcom spawning enemy in empty green zones. FIXED).

- Some CP cost adjustments for purchasing certain individual vehicles & squads (armored, air & artillary).

Having great fun with your new update, playing on Altis right now.

One Bug for me, if i resume mission the other day, all my support icons on the left side of the screen are vanished, also the o-8 window is empty.

Workaround for me is to deselect and reselect one support option @ base officer, then all you unlocked already are displayed again on the screen.

The unlocks at the Officer menu are still as saved, only the icons on screen are missing after resuming mission. Anyone can confirm this?

other than that, still my favourite mission, thanks.

Hi, i've had quite a lot of fun with the mod. However I've probably spend as much time wrestling with bugs or trying to get it set up so that it works as I have actually playing. The passive AI bug has been my biggest problem but I understand that a dev problem. On the other hand their have been massive issues with defending areas taken. If they are left undefended they are all almost immediately retaken. The last time I set up a FOB I returned to find the wrecks of 4 armoured vehicles as well as two blue APC's and a tank piled on top of each other in the ruins of the FOB. Surrounding it so many infantry from both sides had been spawned that the AI had been pushed over the magical number of entities in passivity again and they were refusing to shoot each other despite it only being a map with 6 hostile areas.

The biggest frustration for me has been something that technically is not a bug and that the removal of the save function. For some reason when I first started playing I was able to save normally, now it appears to be working as intended and this has been disabled again. Unfortunately I use save primarily to deal with situations where the AI decides to spend 40 minutes ramming a hospital rather than driving to its destination so removing it makes the game an exercise in extreme frustration for me. Is there any way I can simply enable saves again. I've had a look in the files and changed a few "enableSaving" variables but I haven't managed to get it to work, could you point me in the right direction?

On a side note I'm not sure why you disabled it for the mission given players can opt to disable or enable saves in their game options, why not simply give them the choice? Thanks very much for the help and for your working making this great mod.

Start the game in Multiplayer Lan and save game with 0-0-1 Sitrep

Resume Session and you are where you pressed Sitrep before.

The Mission is not meant to be started in "Singleplayer Scenarios".

**** HEADS-UP! NICE NEW UPDATE FOR DUWS MODIFIED ****

New As of April 15th, 2014:

- Added New Side-Mission(#1 slot in mission list): with capturable AAF Strider "Mobile Teleport Vehicle (MTV)" which you get to keep & use as a new teleporter if you successfully complete the mission! *Note - you can teleport/fast travel to the vehcile no matter where it is, and it also provides you access to the FOB/HQ Teleport screen. It will not respawn so if destroyed you'll have to play & complete the mission again.

- Added New High Command Support Unlock for 0-8 menu: "Bobcat" armored vehicle capable of performing repairs/rearm/refuel (25cp to unlock + 8cp per call).

- Added Click Distance Hint: for use with the new halo restriction on map screen, makes it alot easier to find an allowed halo ckickspot on the map which conforms to the new 1km rule.

- Fixed Halo Restriction: Now works properly for connected clients. Clients can no longer halo by clicking directly on or too near a red zone.

- Resume fix for host: when "resuming" a saved mission your 0-8 menu unlocks do not get restored until you respawn once. FIXED, you no longer need to respawn after a "Resume" (only works for host since savegame in arma3 cannot save client info).

- Minor Bug Fixes.
