New player icons

Is there any way to edit the new player (in group) icons?

If that is not is not possible can you turn "off" the new icons for a unit-- so in this way it will not change to the icon of a soldier with his current weapon but remain what you want. In 1.46 I had a unit with a custom icon but now with Res his icon is the tiny one and is unreadable.
