Mass Disconnections

Recommended Posts

I just started running a Wasteland server, and on the first night I experienced a pair of mass disconnections. The first time it happened about half the server was affected, and nothing else seemed to happen. The second time nearly everyone was affected and according to other players vehicles and vehicle spawns began to behave oddly. I've seen this happen occasionally on a few other servers and I'm wondering if this is some sort of malicious attack or just an issue with the beta? We had been full for a couple hours prior to the second disconnect and it completely killed my server population.

The server is the Organik Gaming wasteland server, its hosted on a quad core NFO VDS along with a 100 slot mumble server. There were no performance issues prior to either of the disconnects and things were running smoothly all night.

adapter=-1;

MinBandwidth=131072;

MaxBandwidth=104857600;

MaxMsgSend=384;

MaxSizeGuaranteed=512;

MaxSizeNonguaranteed=256;

MinErrorToSend=0.003;

MaxCustomFileSize=100000;

serverLongitude=0;

serverLatitude=52;

serverLongitudeAuto=0;

serverLatitudeAuto=52;

MaxBandwidth was set to 25000000, I just looked at the MaxBandwidth post and changed it to 104857600. Could that have been the cause of the problems? No one noticed any lag until the problem actually occurred and the server was full (50/50) for awhile before it happened.
