325,350and -400,760 ping on 1.75 dedicated server

Recommended Posts

I have a dual xeon 2.2 with 2 gigs of RDRAM.

This server runs 1.46 Great.

I log in and play with a 100 ping.

I run the resistance server on it i log in with a 300,000 ping, or a -400,000 ping?

I ve only modified the cfg to say a diffent MOD.

I also have a dual P3 1000. with 2 gigs of SDRAM.

This runs Both fine.

Any help ?

Please.

Chance is there is some time measument bug in Resistance code with some dual processor systems. Can you change process affinity mask of the OFP server process to see it the problem will be seen when running on one CPU only?

Running Win9x or WinNT? I believe several people reported bad performance with sockets under Win9x. It may be due to settings too.

Win9x does not support dual processors.

How to chage CPU affinity mask:

You can bind a process to a cpu either thru the Task Manager, using Win32 calls or permanently setting the processor affinity for an application executable.

(You need NT Administrator privileges to bind a process on NT.)

Binding from the Task Manager

1. Select the "Processes" tab in Task Manager.

2. Right mouse click on the process you want to bind and select "Set Affinity".

3. Select the cpu you want your application to run in.

Ive changed the server to your suggested settings.

Resistance Still seems to to ping off the chart.

While that setting degrades the performance of 1.46? by 200 ping.

Could it be a xeon conflict?

It doesnt seem to be a dual processor problem because we run it on our dual p3.

We are open to suggestions.
