ARMA 3 Crashes only in COOP Mode

Recommended Posts

wht r your specs bro? if u Don't mind to share

Not at all, but they're nothing special. i5 2500k @ 4.8ghz, Geforce 570 GTX @ 850 core/1700 shader/1950 memory, Win 7 64-bit.

One of the things I take in to consideration when picking parts is their market share, so my build really shouldn't be anything special. Leads me to wonder if it's an issue with the co-op missions that my server admin accidentally fixed when modifying our mission, or maybe I've just been really lucky the past couple of days.

its not PhysX that crashes game , i use AMD video card (AMD don't use PhysX) and i have identical issue. i play COOP Annex games and it crashes randomly sometimes takes 30 min sometimes 3 hours. and in between. game freezes for 1 sec then next sec game crashes i have to open task manager to close it. and it was same in Alpha same prob in Beta.

but if i go play Wasteland or Stratis Life or some Zombie game i have no crashes at all.

Sorry, but that's not the case. PhysX is just pre-packaged physics, and it will run on AMD or Intel CPUs. The only PhysX that requires an Nvidia GPU are fluff effects that Arma doesn't use.

the PhysX in Arma 3 is CPU based

I had that issue aswell. It started shortly before beta was released. I got that problem with Teetimes and Invade and Annex (hadnt testet others in MP). The problem was there after beta release but now it is gone, maybe because of new mission files? I dont know. But works fine now.

P.S.: I also run an AMD-Card

ok Colonel, I solve my particular problem, hence I was crashing with arma3.exe no the physx dll, my problem was OC with a not so high Voltage, so it was crashing on demand, I lowered the oc to 4.3ghz and I am golden.

Keep in mind that my RPT is showing arma3.exe not the PhysXdll, so my crashed was different.

ArmA 3 beta in review: The benchmarks

For our measurements, we restrict ourselves to the ultra-details to 4x instead of 8x MSAA and leave downsampling disabled. As a second step, we use high quality settings, including FXAA - it flickers a little but complete while in motion, this type of smoothing costs only little power. Scene serves us as the infantry mission with a dense forest, which is also seen on the screenshots of the optical comparison.

With Ultra details, including 4x MSAA with FXAA and A2C only a Geforce GTX 780 comes on a green branch, the titanium is in front. AMD's Radeon HD 7970 GE follows at some distance and similar fast as the GeForce GTX 770 and GTX 680, followed by the regular HD 7970 and the HD 7950 Boost. After that shows the usual power structure, below a GTX 660 (Ti) makes the highest quality level not fun anymore. With high detail changes to the order anything for it doubles the frame rate by the bank - even a GTX 460 or Radeon HD 6870 still provide about 30 fps. The only oddity is too slow Geforce GTX 660, whose performance we currently can not explain.

I have a GTX 660 Ti

Are you going to post this in every thread?

Where are we supposed to reply now?

The link is dead: (Fixed that for you)

http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Arma-3-PC-236876/Specials/ArmA-3-Beta-Test-Benchmarks-1076533/

Thanks for the Google translation of the german PC Games Hardware: Graphics card benchmarks and Optics Comparison.

The given graphics say: (The diagrams are in english)

A Geforce GTX 660 runs on:

Image

HIGH DETAILS

Average: 44.1 FPS (frames per second)

Minimum: 41

Image

ULTRA DETAILS

Average: 27.1

Minimum: 24

Nowhere it says "It crashes all the time".

It proves that the graphics adapter is running.

One of my clanmates said it is probably something to do with mod weapons, or rather that people join with ones you don't have. Seems to check out, we disabled mod and ran the same mission and my crashes have stopped.

The server I play on wasn't running any mods until like a week ago. I still haven't crashed, thank Science, but I've seen whole squads drop at times. It's weird how you can watch a squad walk away from you to get in a vehicle, and then something happens between you and that vehicle that makes the entire squad crash while you remain unaffected. I've seen it a few times now. Not always near vehicles, but most commonly that I've seen.

I have had this for months the way I have ''solved'' my problem is:

as u can see here:

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthrea...y-in-COOP-Mode

Roll back to stable version

opt out of the developers version

set my page file across all my hard drives excluding C drive (D,E,F,G,H)

and I am not trying to play on ANNEX servers anymore

I am playing on only ''clan'' servers/maps

since than I was able to play 8 hours in a row without crash and more :-)

ps: yesterday I have updated to the dev version as it was requested by my clan and i had instant crashed as before, roll it back its fine :-)

playing on Digital Swords server with admin

when i play on any ANNEX server i get this:

GTX 660Ti crash
