Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX for Arma 3 Alpha

Hi guys,

I have begun with making my Lancer Evolution IX from Arma 2 to Arma 3. Here are some screenshots:

If you manage to put at least halfway proper handling in there it´ll be jizztastic.

Hope ArmA3 won´t 'intervene' too much!

First of all, the car looks great, fantastic modelling and it's spot on.

I'm assuming a high poly model was made, I noticed there's some weird normal mappage on the bonnet and... bottom skirt thingy, name escapes me right now. You might also benefit from having the bonnet non symmetrical in the UV maps and have it as one piece, that would clear any seams that appear, but that would mean you would have to re bake, re texture etc, I'd understand if that's too much work. XD

Now that there's PhysX maybe it has a chance of being a great addon. In ArmA2 car physics (esp. for fast moving cars) were extremely wonky. So good luck.

For now I'm satisfied with the handling but I'm still tweaking it.

I will fix the normal mapping. ;-)

nice one ;) really looking forward to that car. finally we can do rally on stratis ! what is the max speed of the car ?

and is the acceleration fast, or still like the cars in arma atm. ?

I've tried to use Dead3yez's script from Arma 2 where Lancer was able to ride 200 km/h but it needs to be edited because it's not compatible with Arma 3. So for now the max speed is something about 120 km/h. I don't know why but at this speed the car is automaticaly braking. The acceleration is not too fast. I have not set the gearbox in the config yet.

You shouldn't need any speed scripts in A3

Unless they have fucked something up drastically with physX, a properly configured physX vehicle should be able to easily reach realistic speeds of 200 km/h plus.

On A3 release Celery was saying something about how Road Rage is impossible atm because of overall shitty acceleration on all ArmA3 cars, not even gears could make that even.

I was dead serious when i mentioned "arma not getting in the way of things" - now that we´re slowly getting all the good stuff, it´s still a few notches behind :(

That was my understanding too. But maybe only if the simulation is "carx"

Using "carx" is a no-brainer, especially for an EVO.

I anticipate some serious rally action.

awesome man, any idea when youll be releasing it?

I don't know when I will release it. I'm still tweaking the physics of the car.
