Don't mind you questioning security but I get the impression you are using it to sneak in the video about the 1 dubious witness statement that has grown into Boston bombing conspiracy theory #1. No one else has reported seeing the same things and the Police Comissioner has repeatedly stated that no warnings were received.

Regarding the heightened security:

There were also an unprecedented 1,500 state and local police patrolling the route and another 1,500 security guards. There were 415 National Guard troops on hand. That is all standard practice for MPE security. Just because one runner says he has never seen bomb sniffing dogs and officers on vantage points before, doesn't mean that it's actually not usual practice.

For example, in Columbus, Ohio, providing public safety at Ohio State University (OSU) football games (110,000 people) involves four police agencies: the Columbus Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, State Highway Patrol, and OSU police. The stadium is swept by dogs from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and State Highway Patrol. This process begins at 4:00 a.m. before every game. IED sweeps are also done at other events. For example, for the Columbus Marathon (7,000 runners), the formation area, newspaper boxes, and other areas are swept; and for the Red White and Bluefestival, the Columbus Fire Department bomb unit sweeps all vendors and unattended coolers.

After watching the latest news about the explosion of a fertilizer factory in Texas, the Boston bombing looks just tiny in comparison. Btw, In Iraq another bomb killed today more than 27 people and dozend injured....

But...holy shit, the explosion was huge in Texas and it almost looks like a mushroom cloud.

Yes thats really poor show from the papers, very poor infact. I had to travel in london 2 days after 7/7 bombings and I use a rucksack ... the looks I got on the tube were priceless, it was all about the backpacks for about a week until people lost interest and news moved onto something else, I think some bag maker even tried to cash in with transparent bags ... it was a bit of a carnival to be honest, much like how that paper has acted.

Not so much unusual but it still begs the question of the security that spend all day telling people to be vigiliant and making campaigns to tell everyone to watch everyone, yet this slips through that net, so is the security all its cracked up to be? Especialy if they had sniffer dogs but double the importance if they had spotters in those key areas, so I dont think so from this, I hope they do investigate that side to this rather than just focus on the who done it element only. Plus the fact that this chap simply reporting his point of view of security and question in regards it and linking to it isnt a conspiracy snipe either (not direct at you just talking about that particular interview).

If you look at the full pictures of them in the crowd and no just the cropped images, you can see that many of the people in that area

are African, some of which are North and west African.

It's the Boston marathon, people fly from all over the planet to be in it, just like the Dakar Rally.

we get people from all over the world flying to Vancouver to be in it and it's not even close to being the same size.

And yes, there are police with dogs conducting searches, garbage cans, mail and paper boxs are removed

and there are police lookouts on rooftops. Garbage collection is frequent and the bags are clear.

During the 2010 olympics there wasn't a garbage can or paper/mail box on the streets within 10 blocks of the BC place stadium

for days. Just hoops with clear plastic bags on telephone poles.

Could be classed as a racism case too if you think about it, no official sources around that time said anything direct about who or groups or anything and bam, johnny foreigner is in the frame for the public hunt ... sums things up really, and many of those outlets and folk who conclusion jumped would be the first down the throat of "conspiracy theory" ... the hypocrisy is strong with this one :) I imagine just before many would be back slapping him for his well done achievement, then that table turned pretty swift. I hope he takes it further, or maybe hes better than that.

I watched pretty early on the explosion videos as they were upped to youtube and one comment was:

THIS IS WHY I SERVE, they will never take us down!

And this was just an hour or so after the explosions ... no real media coverage of any investigation had happened at that point. Critical thinking nose dive in 48 hours, a world record.

one really looks like it could have been it. There there is the white bearded guy holding his with both arms.

The thing about this bombing is the target and timing , Large race with international participants + Tax Day + Patriot day

It's hard to tell who it could be..... if it was was suicide bombing, then that almost completely rules out crazy anti-goverment white dude.

So that link is a reason to flood a news paper to the public with a mans image with no evidence aligning him to being a killer and he was just someone enjoying the day? Exactly its hard to tell, so hard it was wrong, but right enough to put his image in the main media and papers... people have been outraged in the UK on paedophile cases and witch hunts, this seems some acceptable version.

Well once we get to suspects and this event being anti government dudes, look at the swathe of people that throws into a witch hunt later going by all this logic, basicly anyone with a question of authority. Also like 7/7 why are all these target guys with white baseball caps? Seems like some nutter trend.

The truth is in between I'd say: It's not racist to believe that Muslims (most of whom are Arabs) are behind this, but it is not appropriate to spam social medias, etc. with pictures of every Arab looking person you can find from pictures/films of the marathon and point them out as potential, or even the bombers.

There are over 1 billion Muslims in the world. Do the math. The majority of Muslims reside in the Asia Pacific in general (over 60%). But, then, your average westerner probably doesn't even realize that Pakistan (the 2nd most populous Muslim country) is part of Asia, and not the middle east. And, India, a close 3rd... also part of Asia.

p.s. most terrorism in the United States is domestic in origin (and perpetrated by non-muslims). This includes bombings. In fact, if you want to compare Muslims (both foreign and U.S. citizens) to non-Muslim U.S. citizens... U.S. citizens would account for about 2x the amount of domestic terrorism compared to Muslim perpetrators.
