cleggy 297 Posted April 14, 2013 Here is the back story to my problem: I decided to update an original O2 model by importing it in to Blender (which I'm trying to learn along the way). To keep myself motivated I thought I would try to get my new model in game and see how it looked. So: export from Blender as p3d/import into O2/put in game using a version of the original config/model.cfg. All OK so far, but then I hit a problem: When the vehicle initialises everything is fine, it sits correctly on the ground. However as soon as it moves the body 'squats' (lowers) on the suspension about 30cm. Part of the update process was to scale the vehicle up a bit - it's as if it thinks it's still the smaller size. The original model didn't have this problem. Now I've tried EVERYTHING to cure it - apart from the right thing obviously:) so any suggestions would be very much appreciated! Messiah 2 Posted April 14, 2013 dampersize and damperforce in the config?
cleggy 297 Posted April 15, 2013 Thanks Messiah, I think you've cracked it at the first attempt! Don't know why I didn't just ask you in the first place:) Still don't quite get why the values need adjusting when it's basically the same model as the original just a bit bigger, mass is the same etc.
Messiah 2 Posted April 18, 2013 hmmm, you'd assume it wouldn't need to be altered if everything is in proportion - but then again, dampersize is the amount the dampers move by (so 0.1 represents a 10cm movement) - 10cm i a constant, regardless of how big your vehicle is, so that might be what caused it? The again, unless you've increased the size by a factor of 2 or 3, then I can't see how a bit of up/down scaling could cause such a thing. anyway, good to hear it was something as simple as that - always those that catch you out!
