Also, smoke grenades (white, hand-thrown) drop my framerate a lot if enough of the smoke cloud is within my field of view, yeesh!

Always has been an fps eater, still its not too bad..:)

As a diver I disagree. Yes sure there is nothing stopping you opening a backpack underwater but if we are going to go down that route then why don't we also simulate what would happen to a compass, binoculars, ammunition, NVGs, medical supplies etc under 3 bar of pressured salt water. It's not going to be pretty and all your stuff will be f**ked. So I operate on the model that the inventory items are fully sealed off from the water (although in that case it would have to be a vacuum sealed dry bag or your buoyancy would be ruined).

Valid points, I suppose (party pooper :P). Would it be "realistic" to have perhaps a pocket or two, on the suit or other piece of kit, that can be accessed? For a some items that could be used underwater... not sure what they might be, just brainstorming :)

Whats your graphics cards Chortles? I used to lag out looking at smoke grenades or if I dropped a bomb from the F-35 and went into splendid camera to look at the explosion paused. That was because my old video card the Radeon 5870 couldn't handle all those sprites stacked on top of each other. Now with my GTX 780 I can stare at these things and my fps never drops below 60. I do see that when it happens my GPU is working a lot harder though.

Nope, it has been explicitly switched to 5.56 Nato ammo. The devs have stated this is intentional and correct, the labelling has not fully been updated yet apparently.

Yes they have changed it in 0.60 but they have missed to had a 5,56 silencer, it's always a 6,5mm for the TRG

Yes that's perfectly reasonable. Most BCDs have storage areas for stuff (like dive tables). In regards to dive explosives specialists I think that there are explosives that should work underwater for sure so I can see why you'd want to use them.

No, it's a visible drop in smoothness/fluidity/framerate -- and I'm using an ASUS GTX 660 Ti 2 GB... the "bad" is because this is the first time I've noticed such an extent of framerate drop.

Just googled, no results. Sounds like something do with "limiter" effects, since it's related to sounds. Also "APO" could be short for "Audio Processing Objects", a component of XAudio2.

no improvements for me, i had two CTD's, yesterday i had two moments when my keyboard would stop responding, and i hope we finally have the most desired video options feature - separate post-process effects

Okay, so after some further investigation, it seems that:

1. APOs are commonly used to apply real-time effects to sounds, and

2. a "limiter" has something to do with sound compression, specifically "stopping very loud sounds from clipping and distorting".

Put those two together and it appears we may be hearing some higher quality "bangs" in the future. ;)

I occasionally see vehicle dust effects that are square, but I also use AiA mod so I cannot say if it's Alpha purely. I haven't specifically tested it.

What sertings do you use? I have pretty much the same setup as you(except 2600k) and I still drop to about 50 with smoke grenades. And manage 40 or less in Agia

Any chance for this crash to get looked at http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=6858 ? There are screens, crash dump, repro mission, two months passed while this crash keeps happening over and over for me, several times a day, is there any chance that this can be looked at?

so this APO could this mean that more realistic ambient sound i.e. ambient combat and explosions :D this would add a lot of realism

can we have beta now, can we have it... im literally crying after watching the live stream on Saturday :D
