Just the opposite for me... The Sound is the worst issue for me on both my PCs. Its just terrible!

Could you make a video to demonstrate the sound problem?

Edit:

On an other note. Is the following issue still under investigation? I know that the Eden devs looked into a while ago, but I haven't heard anything about that since then.

I thought it was a feature and not a bug. I mean, I don't need grass and stuff when fast moving through the environment in the editor.

According to the devs it's not a feature, and for me it's really distracting when editing.

I just saw something :
https://trello.com/b/5yzeFpo2/dayz
Its premoum quality content for DayZ. Dear developers, If you have created such quality weapons, world objects, cars, remake whole island (Chernarus), please, give it to Arma 4 as secondary or main island, with PRESENT armory, You will not loose already made models, and they will fit A4 best, as new engine allow you to make such things, please dont waste its potential.

Damn, does DayZ really produce so much more money than A3 that they can spare the resources do all this new stuff?

Guess that has not much to do with money. Dayz is still in beta or even alpha, hence it still has a long period of development ahead, which gives devs the time to implement more advanced technology.

Arma 3's development time is almost at its end, so there is no time to work on such very crititical features.

Anyway, I believe Arma 4 is in the workings already :P

Yeah, DayZ will probably have more to do with ArmA4 than ArmA3. IIRC, it's going to use the same engine, meaning that things like dynamic shadows should be available in both A4 and DayZ. Assets will probably be reused as well (as it was the case with helos between TOH and ArmA3).

I hope they will take some long-requested features into consideration. Improved animation system, accounting for the bullet in chamber when reloading (seriously, BF and GRAW had this for ages...), facial animations, horizon simulation... RV simply can't do that, maybe Enfusion will be able to.

Hopefully it will have completely different engine or at least completely reworked VR engine. I think we won't mind if it will have long development and higher price.

It would be a huge strategic mistake to develop Arma 4 on the same  engine. And BTW I think it's foolish to talk about Arma 4 and create rumours from nowhere.

I thought it was already known that BIs next big military game is on the enfusion (dayz heritage) engine? taking the good bits from rv4 and integrating into enfusion, with new scripting language 'enscript'

Let's just hope then, that the DayZ devs do a good job on the initial development and that the engine will constantly be updated. Otherwise we will be stuck with DX 11 in 4-5 years when other games use DX15 ;)

I don't think so. From the recent job openings on Bohemia's front page it looks like Arma 3 will get some more content before that. My guess (and really, just a guess) is that the next Arma game will be based on the DayZ Enfusion engine; I suspect that it was originally intended to be finished already, but since DayZ did drag on for quite a while, they will extend Arma 3's life time a bit longer until Enfusion is ready to start development on.

Could be wrong, of course, but it wouldn't make sense to develop a new engine and not use it, and besides, one of the brochures published by BIS a while ago more or less said so.

Personally, I hope they will re-work the animation system. That really could use some love.

agree. As time goes on the animations in general and weapon animations/handling in particular are noticeably looking and feeling more and more out of date.

very needed.

I think there is a LOT that needs to be fixed for Arma4 !

Well, as i see last gameplays from newest version of DayZ, i see big potential in this enfusion engine. As Alwaren writed it migt be long road ahead before A4 being developed, but maybe (just maybe) they use Engine from DayZ 0.60 and start designing it straight under Arma 4? It would require little diferent patents than DayZ, diferent algorithms for AI, patchinding, better particles usage (for large battles) and who knows what more. Enfusion is used on Take On Mars if i'm not mistaken, so if its spreaded already on 2 games, and in every on those two games, hes diferent, maybe A4 would have its own "special" version of enfusion? Just dreaming of it, but sometimes dream came true :)

Can we stay on topic, this thread is nothing to do with Arma4! This is for Arma3 Development Branch, if you would like to talk about Arma4 please do so in the correct thread (https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/147471-a-quantum-leap-arma-4/). Any further deviations in topic, may result in forum action been taken

Considering one of their lead programmers is working on enfusion I would hope they dig in arhitecture of game engine the part that communicates with hardware and make some

needed improvements.Be it to multithread more parts of engine that benefit to that, unlock that 4gb ram (64bit arch), and to start making use of direct x12 capability.

As per my post above, please direct Arma4 discussion to the correct thread (https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/147471-a-quantum-leap-arma-4/). - Thanks

OMG, I hope new stable branch will not be released. Something has changed... Downloaded dev branch again, just to try. Severe problems for me just as weeks before when I tried dev branch the last time.

- Lots of mods loaded, same mix as before.

- Load Tanoa map, place a unit, "Preview"

- Stuck somewhere in the process

- Alt+TAB out/in -> arma3.exe is crashed

- Back to stable

Crash reason?

I've  got quite a lot of "Out of memory" crashes on DEV recently.

The reason was not DEV related, strictly speaking: game crashed because i was "tight" on space on the HD where swap file is located and ArmA3 was allocating many Gigs into pagefile,  causing temporary space exhaustion.

The real anomaly is the game using  the pagefile so much file, as i have 16Gigs of memory, 4Gigs allocated for Arma ...

Crash reason?

Will have to look again, will I see the reason? It's that "Arma3.exe has stopped working" message box. Will also run process explorer then. 8 GB RAM here. And indeed, c:\ where pagefile.sys is located has only 7 GB left.

Check arma logs (.rpt) for crash info.

In my case 3,5Gb of page file were not sufficient. Dunno about 7GB, since you have half of my RAM.

I freed space on c: and set the page file to 14 GB, no change. It does reliably crash with mods, but devbranch vanilla works.

Probably a hard one. Will have to check all mods... :( ArmAs last words:

I googled '"No alive in 10000" ArmA 3' and yeah, seems to have happened to quite a few people.
