Little dot when zooming

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that when i zoom without aiming on sights on anything, just zoom with weapon ready, there appear a little white dot in front of the weapon.

TBH it isn't annoying or anything just want to know if this just happens to me

Here's the link to the picture http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=136726157

It's a blinking white dot, it only appears on first person with weapons ready.

It seems as though it is related to collimited sights, based on its behavior when moving, switching between on and off sights, etc.

It's definitely not a feature. Voted up! Also added this note:

It is only present when using a collimited sight. It generally follows weapon sway, as though it were a "ghost" of the projected aimpoint. Going ADS, it clearly merges with the projected aimpoint.

RCO - clearly visible

ARCO - slight flickering, but noticeable

ACO - very erratic movement and flickering

HOLO - least visible

It is not necessary to zoom in to see it, though it helps.

Same here! Though the dot appears to be neon-green for me. We can be pretty sure it's not a feature :D Voted and thanks for creating the ticket :)

Surely it's centred to the crosshair so you barely see it when aiming into open air, but when close as shown in your pic it moves to wherever the bullet may hit, when there is an obstruction in front? Any pictures when not close to an object to show?

Edit:

Just tested myself and I cannot see it, I play at everything ultra or closest to ultra, what are the settings for those that have this issue?

Ah I see in your screen you run the dev build. Perhaps some feature they added since last stable patch.

It isn't centered on the crosshair, but just off to the right. As I said above, it is related to the aimpoint generated by the collimited sight.

I'm playing mostly ultra (no post-process) at 2560x1600.

*edit* YT compression makes it invisible even at 1080p. Ah, well.

Yes, good observation! Same for me: RCO sight, Dev Build, AMD user, ATOC disabled, No AA but SMAA, having a green color.

I think its supposed to be something like the old arma sights, remember where where two lines indicating where you are looking (which in this case would be the dot) andt then a smaller line indicating where your gun is aiming (in this case the crosshair). could be wrong, just my two cents.

No, it has nothing to do with that. It's an unwanted artifact of the aimpoint generated by collimited sights. It does not appear when using iron sights. As has been previously mentioned.
