you talking about everything together or just certain parts? I have low polly version saved, I plan on using z brush to export this higher poly version as a normal map.

Yea i don't know the exact limit too but i think i recall that above 7k is a no go

I decided to work on 1 part at a time, I have the gpnvg's complete i just need to unwrap them, texture, and figure out how to make them into an item to put in game. This is my first addon so a helmet will be much easier to get done. Not to mention Im trying to figure out my workflow. That image above I made the normal/bump just by painting it in photoshop based off an image. This second image im using brush/mudbox (which ever gives me better results)

can u make one of these GPNVG for Arma 2 CO???? I know you shoud then make full soldier..but i woud realy love to see one of those in arma 2 :D

Not really needed to make a "full soldier" you just need to make them an nvg proxy and you could use the bi examples :)
