axljones 1 Posted March 29, 2013 Hello everyone, I've bought ARMA 2 CO a year ago because i fell in love with dayz and it made me discover a lot of other mods and a nice community. However, I decided to create this thread today because I am tired. Tired of having around 20 fps in multiplayer games on average. This is with ARMA 2 OA and on a decently populated server. On an empty server, i get around 25/30 fps on every server i've tried (with and without mods). But here's the catch: i get about 60/80fps in cities in a single player game (chernarus,takistan)... I've tried everything. Using launch commands like -cpucount=4 -nosplash -skipintro -winxp -world=chernarus but none improved my fps. I've tried setting my resolution to 1024x768 instead of 1440x900 to no avail. Even if I set everything to low or high in 1024 or 1440, i get the same framerates Here are my PC's specs: q9300 @ 3ghz 8gb ddr2 800 hd4850*2 (tried with and without crossfire enabled) As you can see, i've got a decent PC and a 100mb/s fiber line (80mb/s in reality). SO why do I get such crappy framerates in multiplayer gamse? It seems like my cpu and gpu usage is lessened in mp games (gpu goes from 99% usage to 50/60). I know that the server is supposed to get some offload to help me run the game smoother but it's totally the other way around in my case. I've tried formating, overclocking, underclocking, using older display drivers. I've switched ISP in the meantime but nothing fixed this issue. I get around 60fps @ 1440x900 in medium/high settings in bf3,crysis 1/2, farcry 3 but this game just won't run in MP. I'm seriously considering uninstalling this game and be done with but I don't want to do that as ARMA2 OA is one of my favorite game.
