chortles 263 Posted March 26, 2013 Bullets first go up and then they come down. If they would go down from the beginning, then it would mean the gun is zeroed in for something crazy like 5 meters. This is correct; I believe what's happening is simply that EDcase is mistaking the main difference from Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead being that now weapon optics tend to have a fixed zero at 200 or 300 meters whereas rifle iron sights and the underbarrel grenade launcher's own red dot sight are adjustable, due to EDcase mentioning "100 m. (seems OK at longer ranges)".

scrim 1 Posted March 26, 2013 I never understood the shift key for vehicles. I mean, it's no quicker than E speed, is it?

Zickefoose 1 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) Yes, we know. Shit awful computers and low-end PCs can run the game fine. Top-of-the-line PCs can run the game just fine. Your medium-grade i7 PCs can't though. And that's the problem. There is something majorly wrong with performance from an ARMA! point of view. The game relies too heavily on the CPU. I'm fine if AI, pathfinding, etc are handled by the CPU. They don't cause that much of a problem for me. But I'd rather graphics be handled by the GPU. Biggest thing that kills my performance are the trees. And no matter what max FPS I'm getting, regardless of how overclocked my system is, once I get up close to the trees, whether on high or low, FPS drops to anywhere between 10 and 20 FPS. Seems like it's being handled by CPU, but I could be wrong.Either way, as much as I like to see BIS throw a lot of stuff in the changelog, I'd rather see performance improvements. Byku, maybe you could explain this to me, but why must performance be fixed in beta? Why should that be the last thing that's fixed? All the new features and objects and vehicles and UI changes don't mean anything if someone can't play the game. But, I thought the minimum speed of CPU should be atleast 2.5ghz. Your running 2.2ghz. Is lag not expected from that? I would expect it if I was running that CPU anyway. I'm running a AMD Phenom II X4 975 Black 3.6Ghz, 4gb of ram and a HD6850. ( $500 budget gaming pc ). And I run 30-40 FPS on High ( good enough settings for me ). And with time, that will only improve :). But, I would suggest aiming for the minimum specs before you complain that your pc cant run it(?).... EDIT: And correct me if im wrong... but, doesnt every game have problems with i7's? Anyway, with the reviews, its why I didnt purchase one. I was told to go with an i5 for gaming if I was set on intel. But, I went with the cheap AMD :) Edited March 26, 2013 by Zickefoose
