MAsta KFC 0 Posted November 12, 2001 Not exactly a addon but has any1 ever noticed that the your soldier in OPF is incredibly unfit? I mean, he runs 20m down the road and hes panting like a dog. Granted, the backpack and the equipment they're wearing is heavy, but soldiers are trained to carry these loads and yet still fight effectively in combat. This also applies the the Black Ops. These soldiers are supposedly the elite:faster, fitter and stronger than the average grunt. Yet they too seem to affected by athsma, like every1 else. What's worse is that they're carrying even less!!! Maybe BIS should ext3end the fatigue distance to sumthing slightly more reasonable... Any suggestions? Oversoul 0 Posted November 12, 2001 You raise a valid point. While their stamina may be unrealistic, it ensures that OFP gameplay differs from something like Quake 3, Dod, or Return to Wolf. In other words, you can't run fast + shoot + brain someone between the eyes all at once. Stamina does need to be modified, though. Like you said, it's unrealistic. Another change i'd like to see is bullet velocity. They are too d*amned slow. I've seen some unofficial addons that fix this, but it could probably be fixed with a patch. sn1per 0 Posted November 12, 2001 By my opinion, the way the soldiersget exhausted in OFP is quite realistic. Even with no gear, you can't run much more than 100 meters at full speed in real life. There is anyway the normal "running" and there is sprint? (there's a big difference, if you didn't know) And I'm against any modifications to the sprinting endurance of the soldiers in OFP. What next? Maybe jumping? And aimbots?
Damage Inc 0 Posted November 12, 2001 It doesn't really affect your aim that much if your soldier gets exhausted. And if you wait a few seconds your aim will be better again.
Armengar 0 Posted November 12, 2001 Id like to see how many regular soldiers *sprint* for more than 50m with full kit on. Maybe run but sprinting full pelt is a differant matter.
Bert ex 22bty RA 0 Posted November 15, 2001 It is TOUGH!! I was the shooting team for 32 Regt RA in the UK 3 div competition. I thought it would be easy, but.... for example, in one shoot we had to fire 10 rounds at 5 targets at 300 yards, run 100 yard sprint, 10 more rounds at 5 targets at 200 yards, 100 yard sprint 15 rounds at 15 targets. This is in full kit. It wasnt all that easy. But then after we had to this again wearing our respirators! needless to say on the second shoot my aiming was way off! This game IS realistic, dont knock it 'til you've tried it.
NVA Killer 0 Posted November 15, 2001 in OFP they do not have rucksacks on so he shouldn't be panting so much
The Jub-Jub Bird 1 Posted November 15, 2001 But they are carrying some kit and a 6kg gun or 10kg for machine gunners. Ontop of that some have to carry a rocket launcher or recoiless rifle, or some other specialist extra. Now try sprinting! Its ok if you just run, no difference at all. That is unrealistic. If anything the stamina need to be reduced.
Devildog815 0 Posted November 15, 2001 True....its hard enough just wearing it and walking but to try and run in it without lossing your breath for any amount of distance is tough. I had to wear the basic load for non-combat and try doing a combat training course but if they told me to add ammo (which they have to carry in the game) I'd probibly told them to go to ####. I agree with Jub Jub if anything has to be changed make it lower instead of higher.
The Jub-Jub Bird 1 Posted November 15, 2001 ...I don't want it to go lower though...
quickdraw_01 4 Posted November 15, 2001 If my soldiers are going to get tired after 100m I want to carry a few extra mags then because i dont think we are carrying enough
