Trolls, Goons, Hackers... Oh well!

Recommended Posts

From the straight forward hacker to the not so obvious goons... I've seen'em all!

Lately ... I was stuck with some trolls on a server, waiting for them to click "OK" (which they never did)

Server kept on losing people 'til it was finally over (and empty) ... the troll had won its battle. -_-

People kept on trying to "vote kick" the thing out of the server so we could start another round it was in vain...

...

We need something to help fight against these people, the #vote kick "playername" doesn't seem to work all that well right now!

It's a shame that trolls, goons & hackers can have it easy at the moment, it would be nice if something could be done in a near future about this.

Hopefully this has already been reported and something is already being done about it.

Anyway...

Thanks.

Such thing have never been in Arma, you kick and ban people from the control panel.

And that hacker part of the title, its not hackers, its script kiddies.

And there will always be found a way to bypass anti-cheat programs

And theres already a thread like this...

LOL what? It's always been in Arma, control panel was added in OA. Before that people had to manually type #vote kick [playername] or [playernumber] (from #userlist) in order to vote. Anyways, this still works in Arma 3 just like before - you can vote admin, kick, mission etc...

@OP

The thing with voting is that there is always a certain threshold set up on the server. For some reason, many servers currently have this threshold either too high (so even if everyone votes, it's not gonna work) or disabled completely.

Wait, wait, is this means that this voting is a SUBSTITUTE for a server console?!!!

No, it's not a substitute. As a serverowner you can login via password and all voting gets disabled then. If you're not logged in, people can vote for missions, kicks and admins. They can't do anything else.

If you play on servers that are not correctly adminned or not adminned at all, expect this.

You can also check out TeamPlayerGaming.com's ArmA 3 server (US East dedi in Atlanta, GA - so it pings decently for Euros).. We run a modified 404Wasteland 50-slot server which has a built-in anti-hack/script (which is updated quite often). The server is also well-maintained by admins. You can check the sig below for IP - or you can just filter TeamPlayerGaming.com in your server browser.

Also, check out this thread which contains the mission file with the changelogs: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?155995-404Wasteland-TPG-Edition-(Built-In-Anti-Hack-Script)
