What is up with the new mac ads?

Recommended Posts

I'm sitting here watching TV and I see all these new Mac ads where they have people coming on admitting they are complete morons and a Mac suites them better. Is this Apples new angle? If your PC confuses you then try us, we cater to idiots? I understand tooting a better, prettier interface, but that's not the message I'm getting. The people in the ads don't seem smart, they seem slow, blank looks on their face, talking slow. I mean I would take them for idiots smile.gif Guess Mac wants to get the AOL crowd. Guess it makes sense. They are the masses and they are clueless. Guess they should be Mac users so we can really look down our nose at them.

It's not that I don't like Macs, they are a beautiful machine, it's just the direction these ads are going.

Apple has always been about making computers that even the mentally challenged can use.

They've obviously just finally decided to integrate it into their advertising wink.gif

The Mac interface is truly legant, if you've used it. As a hard core PC user, I found it a little daunting at first... and only one button made me so mental when I wanted to right click something... but I got used to it. I cant say that I would choose a Mac as my primrary machine, but one of those new iMacs would be a very styling addition to my desktop smile.gif

Macs are good working computers in my opinion. They do graphic designing and other work related stuff really well. I wouldnt make a Mac my computer of choice either. They suck ass when it comes to gaming. Its really hard to find some games thatll go on mac. And if you dont like the one click mouse then just get another mouse with two buttons and hook it up into the same place where the one click mouse was there.

MACs are great coputers. Very nice interface despite having only one mouse button, and is quite fun to use.

however, I prefer PC due to it's openness. I can still do whatever I want to do when it comes to upgrading.

That Photoshop reference is dated. I used to work with Pshop on Mac and 2 years ago moved to PC. I was surprised that I could work an entire week without having to reboot. The Mac was fast with large files (100-500Mb) but crashed alot and was expensive in hardware. Besides, there's hardly any 3D animation software for Mac.

And the names for the tools in Photoshop on a mac look like something out of a harry potter movie, atleast in the dutch version. As for the so called functionallity, yeah great a sound when i drag and drop a icon ..... wow ..... that sure compensates for the total lack of user-upgradability and crap ass interface. I work with a G-4 (well work work I swear at it and it crashes) sure its nicely designed as appearance goes but having to put the icon in the trashcan and empty it to get the zip disk to eject? Common where on earth is the logic in that? There for my view on macs ...... by morons for morons. smile.gif
