Australian Army DPCU Faction

Recommended Posts

First ever "mod", even though its just some textures. Just want to thank the people on this forum for all the tutorials and resources they have posted that has helped me learn.

Add the @DPCU file to your ArmA3 folder and edit the launch paramters on Steam to read "-mod=@DPCU".

If you load the editor up you'l find them under BLUFOR, faction Blue (Australian Army) in the drop down selection box.

To add uniform to a crate use:

additemcargo ["CombatUniform_DPCU",25];

To add vests to a crate use:

additemcargo ["DPCU_vest1",25];

additemcargo ["DPCU_vest2",25];

"vest1" being the Carrier Rig and "vest2" being the Carrier Lite.

The code and textures for the helmet are already completed, Im just waiting for the Alpha to update to allow for helmet retextures.

Im hoping someone might want to work on getting a working AUG A3 into the game to go along side this, as thats what we most likely would be using at the time of the setting (2035 iirc), Im hopeless at 3D modelling though.

Looks good. But DPCU is being phased out by Australia Multicam Pattern (AMP), which is a shame really, love DPCU. But yeah, something to think about.

A retextured helmet would go nicely too. :)

Thanks for the support, people!

The difference between "normal" multicam and "australian" multicam is so negligible that you would never notice it ingame.

DPCU is iconic, and I'l be sad to see it go. I think this will get more use anyways, even if its not 100% accurate for the timeframe the game takes place in.

Helmet texture is complete, as is the coding for it. Im just waiting for BIS to update the alpha to support helmet retextures. So hopefully coming soon!

Im just refining the vest and helmet textures at the moment, and will post an update of them sometime on Sunday probably.

Im hoping to include vehicle textures soon too.

I believe there is more of an earthly tone when it's too the Australian multicam pattern, not too noticeable but still a difference.

I stand corrected. I may expand the faction and add "Special Forces" soldiers using AMP.

Can this get moved to the completed addons section because I ran into this thinking it was a work in progress, not a release. Units look great.

Done but please, next time feel free to just report it cause than you can be certain the mods see it. Posts can be overlooked ;)

That's awesome, good job on the mod.

To the gent saying this is replacing DPCU, that's the first I'm hearing about it. AMP as far as I know is only to be used on operations. I myself trialled several different DPCU variants in Afghanistan as well as Multicam, which offered superior camoflague and IR protection on thermal. Not to mention the overall comfort they gave over DPCU in TBAS.

To the modder, SASR/2 Commando are now using ATACS as well as Multicam. Would be awesome to see some SF units in that as well.

hey mate, love the retextures, theyve added alot of enjoyment to the missions I've made, and I love the helmets in your pics there, can't wait. I was wondering though if you'd noticed/planned to fix the back-to-front aussie flag on the left arms? :D

Already fixed, though have not updated any files in a long time.

New update should be coming very soon!

The last patch is throwing an error on startup with this mod "no entry 'bin\config.bin/cfgweapons.arifle_mx_hamr_point_grip_f'. ".

Is this an updated version of the previous release (from the first post)? Meaning should the other version be removed or is this a whole new release?

The pbo names are not the same, that is why I ask ;)

Its just an updated version.

My host renamed the zip file with a (2), but the folder inside that still reads "@DPCU" with the pbo named the same.

Ok, I update the existing page :)

My host renamed the zip file with a (2), but the folder inside that still reads "@DPCU" with the pbo named the same.

That is not correct.

pbo name of the previous release: dpcu.pbo

pbo name of the current release: dpcu_opfor.pbo

So, the pbo name changed for sure and caused my confusion.

I will update this post with our updated mirror when ready.

Release frontpaged on the Armaholic homepage.

Ah so you released the wrong archive, now I understand. I am updating our mirror with the correct archive now :)

Mirror now with the correct archive.
