Well i have to wait for Robalo or even BIS to actually make the Magazine compatibility groups feature work in the game > https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Weapon_Config_Guidelines#Magazine_compatibility_groups (which obviously still doesn't)

also changing that marking isn't that easy , it will break the original texture which i don't want, sorry

Bummer on the texture, but I understand.

As for the magazines... My understanding was that you can add additional compatible magazines (ie "RHS_mag_556x45_blah") to the list of "accepted" magazines in the config and it won't require any dependency as long as you do NOT add the particular addon that the magazine belongs to into the "Required Addon" array. That's all I was suggesting until Robalo is able to finalize stuff.

I understand I may be wrong in the assumption, but I was under the impression that the process above wasn't against any mod/addon/forum rules, if executed. If it is, then I welcome the correction and defer to BIS/and the addon community.

Note RIS and stock, very similar to your M4 model, main difference is the rail. Sorry if I am confusing you lol.

That looks like a RAS to me, which is already available. The RIS =/= RAS, though one is free-floated (RIS) and one isn't (RAS).

Show me screenshot soon as you can , so i can see where's the problem

So I did some basic testing... If you take the original .p3d (like the black KAC suppressor) out of the v0.2 pack and put it in the v0.3 folder, it will also have this ugly shiny surface... idk why tho, also replaced all the 0.3 textures etc with the 0.2 versions, no change... for some weird reason, the 0.3 folder/pack adds this glossy effect, even switched the config back to 0.2 and no change...

Okay I did some more testing and finally found out what causes this issue, it's the new RHARD_MK18.p3d that triggers this shiny surface look on ALL the other guns, if you replace only this .p3d with the older v0.2 version, all the other models will look just fine again.

Maybe it has something to do with the detailmap_metal_dt.paa or default_ti_ca.paa that weren't in the 0.2 version. So maybe you can check out that specific model and fix it...

I would also like to add that the shiny issue for the BlockII/Mk18 is very annoying and apparent. When v.3 came out you could fix it somehow by running the game via the launcher but that doesn't work anymore and the weapons are shiny/glossy all the time. This is extremely prevalent in dark areas where there are no light sources yet the weapons having this glossy glow to them.

Well , i redid the rvmat , made it less shiny and hopefully it will fix that issue

Here is compatibility mod for your m4 mod: https://github.com/acemod/ACE3/tree/master/optionals/compat_rh_m4

As I understand it changes ballistics of weapons to more realistic parameters. But I don't know how they got values.

If you will have time, have a look please or contact ace3 team (I have already posted a request on their feature request thread).

Speaking of the pistol pack, could someone possibly put every single pistol in a extra pbo? and maybe a extra pbo for all the attachments? Would be damn awesome

Not sure I understand. All the pistols are in a single .pbo (in my version atleast, which I assume is the latest), the other is just a config. I assume you want it combined into one, yes?

nah, I mean like

the m9 get one pbo

and the glocks get one pbo

and so on

so you can sort out what you dont need of this pack. its not like I dont like some pistols, they are all great, but there are a few that Im never going to play with, and I want a clean Virtual arsenal you know?

Hey Robert, have you seen this? Video of AR-10s (Portugese Contract apparently), including slow motion, showing a lot of beautiful details about how the charging handle moves when firing and how it recoils.

It includes a takedown, not really relevant for Arma, but nice to see nontheless.

Yeah , i have seen that - great video , i must say

I didn't even know that the Charging Handle moves like that - i will try to make that in actual Ar10 ;)

also in some other Ar-10s that charging handle doesn't move at all like the modern one , so dunno if that is a early thing or it was designated to work like that

- that's the Dutch one Edited by RobertHammer

In the fourth and final prototype, the upper and lower receiver were hinged with the now-familiar hinge and takedown pins, the charging handle did not reciprocate, and was not attached to the bolt carrier.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AR-10 (Pikula, Sam (Major), The ArmaLite AR-10, p. 36, 38)

I'd assume the one being fired is a very early one from before the charging handle was disconnected from the bolt. It has an early Sudanese/Dutch Test model handguard rather than the later handguard depicted on the rifle in your addon

http://www.ar10.nl/all_model_overview.html

Ed: - I guess the model you have is a Portuguese one, since it has the straight-backed charging handle and top-mounted bayonet lug. These weren't produced until 1960, so wouldn't have a reciprocating handle.

That explains it - thx mate for the info

shame , it would look cooler with moving it but irl its way more practical :p
